I do. My new favorite RPG ever. Running a game soon for a couple of friends, all about an evil alien brain worm conspiracy. Should be tons of fun!

Played a couple sessions so far. I am excited as to what the new company will do with it for sure.

I might pick up the book. I'm a sucker for WH fluff and rulebooks. I picked up a copy of WHFRPG for my son a couple weeks ago just because it was cheap and he didn't have a copy.

Haven't played any of the tabletop games in years. My son and his friends invited me to play with them once a year or so ago. Had a great time! My Orks and Gobbos died hilariously!

I read through the main book they have out and liked it allot. Though I'm really looking forward to the Adeptus Mechanicus book. I'd love to run a Grey Knight story.

The game is too hardcore for me.

I bought the rulebook mainly for the fluff. Never played it, but I kind of want to try it out some day, right in the middle of putting together my Space Marine army though (and wishing I had gone with Orcs).

Giant necro here, but I've just acquired the DH book and absolutely love some of the things this system is doing. I've also always been a big fan of the dark gritty atmosphere of the 40k fluff.

Anyone here actively playing online anywhere? Might have to see if I can join a RPG group when I move to NYC in a few weeks and do it up right in person :D

I've messed around with Rogue Trader a bit, the system is fast and brutal. I like it.

I played 1 session.
1 guy decided to shoot at me while screaming "heretic!"
He missed me and killed 2! of the other players.
We were all on the same team.
I said "I don't give a fuck about this planet."
Neither should have his character.

I refused to play Dark Heresy with them again. As the role-playing was dumb and the roll-playing was dumber.

I mean I think the game could be great.. but you need the right players.

Dark heresy and rogue trader are both great. DH is much more grim, and you probably tend to die more. RT is still lethal, for sure, and can be as grim as DH depending on what's being run, but it can also have somewhat lighthearted space adventure; going after ork freebooters or something.

Personally I prefer RT, but if you like the gritty, DH is probably more your speed.

I want Deathwatch.

I hate the whole "SPESS MAHREEN!" fandom, and the way everyone and their fucking mother glorifies a bunch of space fascists and refuses to play anything but them in tabletop, but goddamnit the Deathwatch are fucking cool, and playing a game as one could be totally friggin' sweet.

I expect this to be the Werewolf: the Apocalypse of the WH40KRP line.

I'd love to play an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor working with the Deathwatch. I could dig that hardcore.

What, the best one by far that nonetheless gets looked over by many for the emo prettyboys? :D

The whole concept of Deathwatch is perfect for games; you have a small, mixed-chapter group of Marines that does stuff other than fight in big battles and stay at their base. Relic take note.

I'd love to play an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor working with the Deathwatch. I could dig that hardcore.

Hopefully the Deathwatch book will have a section on how to power up Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader characters to Deathwatch starting character levels, like Rogue Trader did.

This can be said for... well all RPGs, and most MMOs :)

But yeah, I'm going to be grabbing the other DH source books, Rogue Trader and eventually Deathwatch.

I wonder if we should look into maybe getting a CoG IRC DH session going or something, though perhaps maybe with someone who's GM'd these rules before... I'd just like to take a crack at the rules and see how things flow.

Also, I found an awesome DH online character sheet, similar to Myth-Weavers and DDoG.

I have the sampler of Deathwatch and it's incredible. I'm trying hard to get friends into 40k fluff so that I can run it.

Couldn't you just look really hard at the Inquisitor book and see how to convert it? Cause it's easy to make over-powered Inquisitors. Real easy. Throw in some chaos-infused weaponry...

Oh yeah, it's not hard to do. It's just that Rogue Trader has a handy box-out that says exactly how many experience points and how much more kit you need to give to a Dark Heresy starting character to bring them to RT levels. It's just convenient and I'm sure they'll do the same thing. It'd probably be a good idea to get the high-level book for DH though.
