Talk about a labor of love. For two years, fans have been working feverishly to lovingly translate all of the text for Nintendo's beloved game Mother 3, a game that hasn't -- and likely never will -- see a stateside release.
Mother 3 is the GBA sequel to Mother 2 (obviously), which was released in the US in 1995 as Earthbound for the SNES. Nintendo has not revealed any plans for a US release of Mother 3 (which, one would assume, would be Earthbound 2). One element of the Earthbound/Mother series that has drawn such a devoted following from fans is its impeccable use of language and humor. Some are concerned (http://tinycartridge.com/post/54644622/on-possibly-losing-itois-words-with-the-mother-3-fan) that a translation provided by fans may cause the game to lose a lot of its original charm. But enthusiasts can now decide that for themselves. The translation package can be downloaded here (http://mother3.fobby.net/).
