So a while back, the legislation put forth this thing called the "Michigan Promise scholarship." High school juniors all take a standardized test in Michigan, and if you got sufficiently high scores, the state promised to give you $4,000 for college.

Guess what they just did? That's right. They broke their promise.

We did our part; we rocked those tests.

Yep. This program was one of the things they cut to try and correct that.

Was just looking at the unemployment map at CNN. Michigan still leads with 13.5% unemployment.

Yeah.. never saw THAT one coming, except for Michigan has been in a bad place for quite a long time, and we are just good at pretending it's not that bad. The unemployment rate is higher than the reported 13.5% as it doesn't take into account people who have a job that has under 20 hours a week, or gave up on unemployment.

It's still impossible to get a job that I can work around my classes.
