One week away. Since nobody else has apparently had the heart to start it, here is the MW2 matchmaking thread.

I know there's been some bad news surrounding the game, but for those of you who are going to break down and get it anyway, look on the bright side. The changes to PC multiplayer mean we likely only need one thread here. :p

Personally, I'm getting it on 360. I'm going to the midnight release, so I'll be found online from the wee hours of Tuesday morning. Looking foward to seeing what the multiplayer is like only hours into release. Sort of like an MMO launch, it's a state that the game will only be in once. Then I suppose I'll start (and finish) the singleplayer portion the following evening.

I didn't take the time to get max prestige mode in CoD4. But I damn sure will this time. :D

After reading a few PC reviews I decided I didn't care... I still ordered the PC version on Amazon. I am honestly one of the PC players that will benefit from the changes. I won't mind getting matched with similar players for good matches. I don't typically have enough time to put into games so with dedicated servers I usually just find one with people and get raped. haha.

My brother has been bitching up a storm on how broken matchmaking is on MW2 PS3, unfortunately. :(

Mine and me as well. We tried playing together on several different occasions without success. Instead we just talked on the phone while playing our separate matches. Fun, but not the same.

Yeah, I've been seeing all over twitter that the PS3 version is having all kinds of trouble with matchmaking.

Can it just not find games? or what?

have yall been gettin an error message when trying to party up? i hate that i have to go back to the xmb bar to invite/accept.

tried to get some co-op for spec ops working but it kept saying the game wasn't available. no big deal we were able to play onlline tdm.

i'm on most nights after 9 est.

360, up for the regular multiplayer modes, I am not really digging Spec Ops. Definitely would of taken a co-op campaign over that shit.

That said the rest of the game is fucking awesome.

All of the above. Invites to join failing, lobby crashes if you join inside the 10sec countdown, system reporting buddy lists are wrong/stale which required logging out and restarting, etc.

Meanwhile on 360, I'm in. I'm a little bit of a softcore care bear, I can only take so much berating about accidental teamkills. :o

Taking Spec Ops as a stand along game type, it can be epic insane incredible fun. Compare it to the Campaign and it does indeed pale a bit.

I have decided to shun drinking, friends, and girls in favor of my SCAR and Vector. If you need anyone to help fill a room, look me up tonight, I shoudl be home in another 2 hours or so and playing to the wee hours of the morning. 360 of course.

Ok, who do I have to kill to get on a CoG team? Of the two people posted here who would be playing primarily on 360, one has a full friends list (Goronmon) and the other I'm waiting to hear from. But I KNOW there's more colonists on MW2 than that. :mad:I cleared out some spots on my list, so I should be able to actually accept invites now.

Curse MS and their silly 100 friend limit.

I'm always open for an invite. I think I've quadrupled my friends list size in two days ! (I had 3 now I have 13 !)

I cleared out some spots on my list, so I should be able to actually accept invites now.

Sadly, I've never even come close to that. But, I figure, now that I'm playing with some of you guys, I figure one day it'll happen.

Hey, I'm new, more of a reader than a poster, but I'd love to get some matches in with a good group of guys. This game consumes pretty much all my spare time, in fact I'm typing this in between rounds.Hey, welcome to the site! The easiest way to get into a CoG group is really just to try to get as many CoG gamertags on your friends list and bug people for invites when you see games going on.

Is there any chance of arranging some regular time, to make it easy to put together some big CoG games? Like the TF2 Thursdays? MW2 Wednesday, maybe?

diablopath and I tried to game together a few days ago but it just wasn't happening. Matchmaking wouldn't put us in a game no matter what we did. I finally got put in the middle of a game but when I looked at the team lists diablopath wasn't in there with me so I just gave up. I'd be down with some weekly MW2 action though.
