This tape of Kurt Russell auditioning for the part of Han Solo is... interesting?

I like how although the story and events hadn't been fully established at this early stage, Luke's ear-bleeding whininess was cut in stone from day one :p

I was really hoping it would have been a audition in the Greedo scene.

Still I prefer who they picked.

Heh, at about 1:52 sounded like it was going to turn into porn of some sort. I'm glad they cleaned up the dialogue a little, with the final movie, I mean.

Oh my god, I can't believe Lucas was able to come up with the actual Star Wars movies after coming up with THAT crap dialogue!

George Lucas is a terrible writer. This has always been true. The Original Trilogy took years to produce, and he got a lot of help.

That is so often the case with movies. After seeing a sequel, you realize only too the late that the first one had to be honed to a razor edge just to sell the idea - the creator's true colors don't come out until he's been given more creative freedom.

Harrison's boring way of delivering dialogue works well for this character. In a way Kurt sounds to awestruck by what he sees. Harrison has an old hat sound to him as Han. A "I have seen this and done that" sound that really works.
But I dig Kurt man.
