Now there is a device that will do nothing but Twitter!

What is TwitterPeek?

TwitterPeek is a slim, lightweight mobile gadget that enables you to use Twitter on-the-go from anywhere in the US. It is the world’s first Twitter device from the makers of Twitter and Peek. Because it is designed exclusively to Twitter, TwitterPeek offers the best mobile Twitter experience available.http://images.amazon.com/images/G/01/electronics/detail-page/B002R5AG50_twpk_peekfamily.jpg

Seriously....nothing but Twitter. And you can have it all for the low low price of $200 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002R5AG50?ie=UTF8&tag=livedigitally-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002R5AG50).

Sweet Jesus, I imagine just being spotted by that gives the collective human race the right to beat the ever-loving crap out of you. I don't see it listed in the features, though...

And, of course, hordes of morons will want to buy them.

This is going to fail so hard because the people that are trendy enough to want to update a twitter each second most likely already have an iPhone, G1, etc.

I love the fact there's on called 'Pronto'

God...this is all sorts of hilarious.

Well, you need to get the Pronto in order to get 'True Push'... which of course we all want.

This seems pretty stupid.

...Wow.

I actually had a Peek for a couple of months, because I wanted access to my email and limited 'net functionality (that is to say, that which you can get through email) but didn't want to pay data plan rates on a phone. Which I still don't, but I eventually gave in. Anyhow, at the time the Peek seemed like a pretty reasonable, low-cost alternative.

And it was, to be honest - I got the handset for something like $20 on sale at Target, and for < $20 / month it got my GMail just fine, worked pretty quickly, could handle multiple accounts, had very long battery life and allowed me to use email-based services for posting to Facebook & Twitter, sending texts, etc. But in the end, it was just too cumbersome to try to do as many things as I want to do online all through email, and I ended up spending as much time trying to work around the device as work with it.

I still have the device itself, actually. Maybe I can re-sell it without much of a loss now if the company gets a bunch of press from this incredibly dumb-sounding idea. ;)
