A pre-alpha trailer (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/41606.html) from TGS 2008. Looks pretty good from what's shown. (Gametrailers)

Great concept. Hopefully the graphics can be a bit more optimized, though.

It doesn't matter. The Ignition Factor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ignition_Factor) was, is, and always will be the best firefighting game of all time, with Brave Firefighters in a close second (first if the machines weren't always broke-ass every time I find one).

Gamestop has it used for $30. Must be in demand. I remember hearing about it, since it was made by KCET, who at the time was just about my favorite dev team, but I never picked it up. At that time, they were the division of Konami responsible for Castlevania, Silent Hill, DDR, Gradius, and this.

I had picked it up from work the day it was released, but unfortunately it was a part of the "great purge of '07".

Damn curious little game, you had boss fights with fire... yes...

Woah woah woah woah..... hold the phone.... a firefighting game on PS2 that blew by my radar undetected?

Looks like Gamestop's going to get a little of my cash next week even with no littlebigplanet....

That's exactly what came to my mind. I was thinking "What was that great game on the SNES".

Would be a good Virtual Console title.

Woa, woa, a game with an axe where I DON'T use it to chop apart other humans?

I'm not sure if I'm intrigued... or disgusted....

Ignition Factor completely surprised me. I rented it back in the day because there wasn't shit else in, and was shocked that it was actually a damn good game.

I still haven't grabbed the one Mike Kelehan recommended. Can never get it cheap enough in teh eBay.

As for the new trailer, I think these guys have a long way to go.... I think the trailer if anything looked worse than the concept video.

Pretty sure you hit the nail on the head there. Looking at the way things are moving and how they emphasize the use of tools in a first-person view, it just looks like what we've come to expect from the ol' Wii.

Press release. (GoNintendo (http://gonintendo.com/?p=82524))

May 14, 2009 - Looking to give back to those who risk it all to keep us safe, game developer Epicenter Studios announced today that they will be donating a share of their proceeds from “Real Heroes: Firefighter” for the Nintendo Wii™ to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network.

“We wanted to try to give back to these brave women and men who put their lives on the line every day to keep the public safe,” said Nathaniel McClure, CEO of Epicenter Studios. “This is our attempt to bring recognition and support to a wonderful organization that not only supports firefighters battling cancer but also aggressively promotes prevention and early detection.”

For more information about the Firefighter Cancer Support Network, please visit - http://www.FirefighterCancerSupport.org

In addition, Conspiracy Entertainment and Epicenter Studios are pleased to release several exciting new images from “Real Heroes: Firefighter”. Featuring a top-notch voice cast, experience raging infernos and explosive environments alongside the rest of your Engine Company 13 squad through a story-driven adventure in this unique first-person action game.

In development by Epicenter Studios, “Real Heroes: Firefighter” emphasizes non-violent, game-integral puzzles and challenges that mirror the on-the-fly choices firefighters face every day. Featuring Epicenter’s proprietary “Thinking Fire” technology, blazes will seem almost alive as they not only attack structures, potential victims and firefighters, but also cause unexpected changes to the environments that will suddenly alter the player’s options and strategies. Designed in cooperation with veteran firefighters, “Real Heroes: Firefighter” ensures that no two scenarios will play out the same.

For more information about “Real Heroes: Firefighter,” which is set for a June 2009 release in North America, please visit - http://www.conspiracygames.com or http://www.epicenterstudios.com.
