Normally I want to shove a pineapple up the anus of everyone that works at Gamefly because of their pitiful game stock and delivery times.

In a weird twist I want to shove a pineapple up the anus of everyone that works at Gamefly because they sent me two games I wasn't expecting to receive so quickly: Uncharted 2 and Borderlands. Maybe I just want to shove a pineapple up someone else's ass for a change. I dunno.

Tonight I've told the gf that I am parking my ass on the couch for some serious game time and I don't know which to start. Trouble is, I tend to play one game at a time because I don't have that much game time as it is and I like to finish a game before starting another. Otherwise I tend to lose interest, which I know is usually the opposite of what happens. Eh.

So which should I start with? Please, give supporting arguments you motherfuckers!

Uncharted 2. You can finishing it faster than Borderlands.. and at least have that accomplished feeling. Then you can jump on multiplayer at will.

Uncharted 2 is way shorter than Borderlands. Just saying.

Uncharted 2 is the best singleplayer game this year and one of the best gaming experiences I've played in my 36 years.

I've not played Borderlands...but really, civil, if you have tonight - and maybe just tonight - to dedicate yourself?

UNCHARTED 2.

It's the first game since Bioshock that I started up again immediately after completing it, just to experience it again. It's the kind of game I want to show my girlfriend and family so that they understand how good a videogame can be.

It'll suck your dick for $10.

Borderlands is great so far, as long as you have at least one buddy to tag along.

I have no interest in Uncharted so I can't really say anything.

With that said. I just finished Uncharted and echo everyone else saying that you will finish Uncharted faster than Borderlands. Might as well just buy Borderlands and be done with it.

I would go for Borderlands as it is more the co-op game, so you'll want to play it while folks are still on it. Whereas you can wait on the Uncharted Single player and not lose out.

Uncharted 2 is one of the best games you'll ever play. And you'll buy it from GameFly. If you don't, you hate fun, and you'll make....... crap, there's no "cute" character from Uncharted 2 to say they'll cry. Just picture that little kid with the Yankees hat from Indiana Jones.

I voted Uncharted 2. It's more than likely the shorter of the two games if you aren't going to play multiplayer so you can probably get it out of the way first and enjoy Borderlands more.

If you've got a buddy to play with, Borderlands.

There's something about local co-op that is way more fun than even the best single player games. Just having a friend there makes it all the more awesome.

Though if dick-sucking is involved (for $10 or otherwise), you might end up in trouble.

Uncharted 2. Not only because it is a short game but because it kicks so much ass. The time you wasted creating this thread could have been spent completing the first two chapters of Uncharted 2.

I'm actually getting the best of both worlds. My only other gaming friend (in the city) bought Borderlands and tonight we're gonna co-op it on his fancy TV/surround sound system.

UC2 starts off slow, but once it picks up it really picks up.

So we bought some beer, ordered some pizza (vegan for me of course) and played through three or so hours of it.

I have to say, it's more like Bored-erlands to me (I haven't seen that anywhere else so if you quote it cite me fuckers!) after...the 1,832nd "fetch this and come back to me" mission. The landscape not changing a single bit (other than more junk, more ravines, etc) didn't help. My friend has owned it since it came out and he's gotten quite far in it so I kept asking him if what I was experiencing was indicative of the game and he said it was to his experience. I have to say it's my disappointment of the year so far in terms of expectations/actual experience.

I'll give it another chance as I found UC2 to be very meh the first few levels and now love it. Though we played long enough that my character was a level 10 or 11 at that point, and I suck at FPS games so it wasn't for lack of trying. I just found it boring. I hate to say it by my once-favorite genre (sandbox games) feels like it's on the wane creatively (F3 notwithstanding) and story-driven, guided games (such as UC2) seem to be my new cup of tea.

After reading the impressions of Civil and others I'm glad that I didn't pre-order "Bored-erlands*. It sounds like the game is fairly repititive, and I'd be better off buying it on sale or skipping it entirely. I still want to play it, but there are enough great games out right now that I don't need to play something that may not be completely fantastic.

I'm sure the game is fun, I've just heard that it is repetitious. Not the sort of thing I'm looking to drop full price on.

I can't run it on my PC right now anyway, so it's sort of a moot point.

Aren't all games (with few exceptions) repetitive? I think it comes down to how well is the repetition "hidden" or distracting for the gamer so they don't feel it's repetitive. I also think if it's in a genre you really like, you don't mind the repetition. I've read what many who have liked it. It seems they don't mind the repetition...very much like when I enjoyed games like PoP or AC. They were repetitive to many...others saw less of it.

I'm with you Mr. Gnome. It's a game I would enjoy if I rent it...or buy it at $20 or under.

MagGnome

I guess quite a few games repetitive if you want to get particular about it, but it only becomes a problem in certain games, and Borderlands seems to be one of those games, at least for some people.
