Can't wait for a Dragon Age? Looking to jump into that world? Looks like EA has you covered for now. Dragon Age Journeys, developed by a new browser focused team, EA2D, will let you explore the dwarven kingdom of Orzammar. Will you be able to stop the evil that threatens the entire world?

Dragon Age Journeys will feature intense tactical combat, a compelling story and deep customization. Players can choose from one of six different origin stories, each offering a unique background that shapes the lens of how the player perceives the world and how the world will perceive them. The game will deliver an amazing experience to fans looking for an introduction to BioWare’s dark fantasy epic, Dragon Age: Origins. The game is available, for free at the Dragon Age Journeys (http://www.dragonagejourneys.com/) website. Check it out and let us know what you think.

EA must be the left hand and Bioware must be the right. The game isn't available to play just yet.

EDIT: When Dragon Age Origins arrives in stores on November 3, it will not be alone as far as experiences set in BioWare's vibrant new fantasy universe. In fact, starting tomorrow [(October 22) at noon PST you'll be able to play a completely original browser based tactical RPG based on the franchise from Electronic Arts' new label EA 2D called Dragon Age Journeys.

I like the little animation of the woman dropping her sword and running with her arms flailing about as the dragon spits fire at her :p

It's worth noting that if you play while logged in to your EA account thingy, then you can transfer three items from Journeys into the main game (on any platform) when it releases. Don't know what items yet, though.

Watched the video and am going to skip it. It looked terrible and if I play it I don't think i'd want to play the main game when its released. but hey, at least its free.

Well poop. I'm gonna check back later then. I was on the fence about DA:O until I saw the ashes cinematic on the 360. Totally changed my mind about the game.

I'm really impressed with it so far. If you have any interest in RPGs or turn-based strategy games, it's worth checking out,

I agree. It's a pretty good little game. I think they did a pretty incredible job.

Makes me wish my computer could run DA:O. As much as hate to do it, looks like I'll be getting it for 360 or PS3.

I've posted this elsewhere, but I'll post it again since this seems more active right now. Giant Bomb has another Quick Look up for Dragon Age (http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-dragon-age-origins-360/17-1528/), but this time running on the X360. There's about 20 min of gameplay, and it looks like it plays just how I was hoping for it to play on the console. YMMV, however.

Thanks for the info, very handy.

Mmm I'm blind today, where can I log on?

In the game itself, on the main menu. If you look over by the left hand side of it, there are two options. One is Survey and the other is Login.

I've gotten one item that will transfer over to the game, a belt with quite a few 5% resistances. Also, make sure to do the three surveys as you'll get another item once you complete all three.

Pretty fun, nice Diablo 2-ish game.

Worth playing for the item?

It's not difficult at all (plus, you can change difficulty settings), although to get all the items you really have to spend a bit of time completing the quests and surveys. After all, it is a PR thing.

I don't mind, because the PR is hidden well enough (except for the surveys). And hey: free loot!

Flank, heal, warcry. That's really all you need.

I know this came out awhile ago but I just finished it, however I did not get the achievement for finishing the game with all three character types even though I did have them. Was anyone else able to get that one?

You have to beat the game using each as your main character. Making a Mage, a Rogue, and a Warrior. You have to beat the game three times to get it.

Ahh, I guess I could zoom through the game two more times before Tuesday. I do not think that was made very clear though.
