So I went on a bedding spree -- I bought a new Mattress (from Keetsa), a Foundation (also Keetsa), sheets, a comforter, a quilt, and a couple shams. I had been sleeping on a futon for the better part of 3 years now, and I needed a major upgrade.
Anyways, so in maximizing my sleeping experience, I've started looking at sleepwear. I sleep in just boxers, so I'm wondering if the community had any opinion on silk boxers, or just silk in general. I've never owned a pair, and it looks enticing.
So yeah, your thoughts on silk boxers?

A buddy of mine got a pair as a gift, from Thailand.
Essentially, they are God. (according to him)

Do you like silk on your balls? I can't think why you wouldn't.

When I went to China this summer the best souvenir I got was a silk bedding set. I didn't get boxers, but I wish I did. It just means I have to sleep totally nude more :p
Regular sheets just don't feel the same, although you're supposed to dry clean silk so it can get pricey if you use them all the time... (or... really gross)

Hmmm.
My coworker just told me that if I get silk boxers, I need to make sure I shake thoroughly after pit stops.
So far it looks like a positive consensus.

Ugh. I'm a "hot" sleeper, and silk boxers have been my bane.
Yay cotton.

Hey, man. You're still wearing your pubes to bed, and that still counts.
Anyways, I went ahead and bought some cheap ones on Ebay. At worse, I have three more boxers. At best, sexy fun time.

Yes, silk does not tolerate water/soaps very well. In fact, for many stains the suggestion is to actually use saliva to clean it - and I'm not making this up.

Thats confusing to me, because the nature of silk is to adapt to your body temperature. Over time cotton traps heat, while silk maintains temperature rather well. Its quite an amazing substance.

I see it is time for that talk I have been putting off.
You see when a boy starts becoming a man, his body starts behaving in odd ways. You will start getting hair under your arms, on your face, and in your pricate area. You will also start to notice that your wee-wee gets stiff from time to time. This is all perfectly normal.

I have tried silk boxers in the past and did not care for them. It was too smooth for me. I do like silk shirts though.

I'm in the process of switching my boxer collection over to silk. They're so comfortable and airy. Two thumbs up here.

Well, I was going to try and tug one out before I go to bed. Now all I can do is think of you in fucking underwear. Now I can neither sleep, nor get aroused.

Speak for yourself! Oh, and if you want to talk sleep comfort.....
As to silk boxers, during the day they really arent that practical. If you sweat at all during the day they are a nightmare, absolutely brutal. At night, well in all honesty I just dont find silk all that great to sleep in but thats a matter of opinion I guess. One thing I can say is silk pajamas/boxers + silk sheets = one giant clusterfuck. Either your sheets or your ass will end up on the floor every night.
Personally, I have run the gamit, from briefs to boxers to silk boxers, then back to boxers and finally mostly boxer briefs. Lately as I have gotten more active into outdoor sports like golf, which requires 5 hours of walking around... I have really come to appreciate bamboo boxer briefs personally. They are a bit ( ok... alot ) expensive, but well worth it.

Silk sheets. I had silk sheets on my water bed in CT. I felt at times like I was in heaven. :D

Remember, if you mention pubes, this thread will just turn into another "DO you shave your sack" thread.
Do we want that?
Maybe.

Pubes, eh? Thanks to a similar thread on EvAv, my hedges have been well-maintained since.

Bamboo boxers? That doesn't sound comfortable at all. And what if I'm hanging out with my Panda friends? That could lead to some pretty awkward situations.

Bamboo is unbelievably soft when turned into fabric. It's like nothing else I've ever felt. I'd love to get some bamboo sheets some day, but I bet bamboo underwear would be pretty amazing too.
Silk boxers are great -- silk is a magical fabric that will keep you completely comfortable at all kinds of temperatures, which makes it ideal for underwear. It's also very absorbent, dries quickly, and it's not nearly as hard to care for as people would have you believe.. just wash it gently and keep it out of the drier, and it'll last for ages.
Lastly, if there was ever a time when people were meant to be nekkid, it's when they're asleep, FFS!!! Why in hell would you want to spend all day wrapped up in all manner of contraptions, only to change into different contraptions before you go to sleep??
Nothing could be more natural or comfortable than sleeping nekkid. Anything else is an abomination, I say!!*
*an exception can be made in the event that you have to share a room/bed with someone you're not intimately involved with, but you'd still be better off making a move on them and shucking your threads ;)

Silk is for making sweet love with the ladies in a waterfall. Don't wear them every day like you're planning on getting some every night.
'cuz we know you ain't!

I used to have that problem.
Now I just walk around with a permanent erection all the time regardless of clothing.

In that case, I suggest you get some piercings (if you don't have them already) and go as a pot rack for Halloween.
