Coming up this Thursday (10/22) In-Game Chat will be talking with two people from Naughty Dog, developers of the recently released and amazingly well received Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Specifically, we’ll be speaking with creative director, Amy Hennig, along with one of the lead game designers, Neil Druckmann. Neil is also heading up the upcoming Uncharted motion comic.

If you’ve got questions about the game or even the comic, feel free to post them here and we’ll attempt to get to them on the show Thursday.

What inspired you in creating the Uncharted universe and to bring Nathan Drake to the character we know him as today?

Also, why is Uncharted so freaking awesome?

Why did you decide to go with motion comics? Why not a regular comic or an animated feature? Motion comics have not typically been that great and the decision to go with the format interests me.

Uncharted 2 is vastly different from the first Uncharted in gameplay and story. The first Uncharted's plot was very linear, whereas Uncharted 2 is more sporadic. Also, in terms of gameplay, such as the addition of stealth attacks and having players react to changing environments in action sequences (e.g. collapsing building). Also What inspiration did you use to develop the plot and gameplay to expand upon the first Uncharted (movies, books, games, etc.)?

Are you guys done making games? Clearly Uncharted 2 cannot be topped.

Jak and Daxter for PS3. When?

How did you come up with the increasingly larger set pieces? Starting the game at the trainwreck, robbing a museum, then digging through ship wreckage, and that's just the first 3 chapters. Chapters 4 through 7 continually amped up the action and tension, and then there's the entire train ride. How can this be topped in any future games?

Where's the making of videos showing the major cutscenes in mocap, wireframe, animatic and final in splitscreen like the first game? That was a really nifty special feature that you gradually unlocked.

Ask Amy what it's like to be so awesome and what her plans are for increasing her awesomeness in the future.

Any plans on letting us know exactly what happened between Uncharted and Uncharted 2?

Will ND ever make a multi-platform game, ever?
Oh, and if there's going to be another Legacy of Kain game ever coming out, will Amy be up for collaboration with Eidos on that?

I can answer the first one. No. ND is owned by Sony.

They are being consulted, yes. But anymore involvement beyond that is too early to tell at the moment. Still, I'll try to find out if we can even talk about the film. It's likely too soon that they would even have any info to give, regardless of if it's off limits or not.

Not the same type of thing. You buy the making of stuff, but it doesn't have the same videos as I was describing.

When can we expect some DLC? And will it be limited to deathmatch maps, or is there a possibility of something more, like challenge rooms, or even a side episode? I think it would be cool to have a short 5-7 chapter story where we get to play as Sully as he hooks up with women and then gets run out of town for philandering. Maybe we could have him escaping the wrath of townsfolk, with his hooker companion, and they need to take refuge in a church.

Suggest to them to hire Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake. Best casting ever.

That's funny, I had just typed up the same thing (though I added Emily Rose needs to be in it as well), before deleting it, figuring they'd have almost no influence on the casting. But Fillion would make a great Drake. He'd have to drop a few pounds to really sell it as an adept climber, capable of scaling sheer cliffs and hanging by the skin of his fingertips. Not that he's fat, but he's much bulkier than Drake.

Would they please make an Indiana Jones game? Pretty please.

(Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if LucasArts only publishes those games, or if they develop them, too.)

Why do developers shy away from including more complex puzzles in games today? Is it a fear that the barrier of entry will be too high for more casual gamers, causing them to give up or get frustrated with a game? I feel like Uncharted 1 really dropped the ball on puzzles, and so far, Uncharted 2 has had alightly better puzzles (I'm only on chapter 11) but they still have a tremendous amount of hand holding and really only rudimentary logic. I feel like the world of Uncharted is MADE for puzzle solving, and I'd love to see more of a challenge in that area in the future.
