View Full Version : Net Radio Station for Gamers

i'm just looking for input on this, but i am thinking of starting up a net radio station for gamers, but unlike rainwave.cc this will be more mainstream/indie rock instead of video game music.
the whole emphasis for the site would include things like weekly podcasts (IGC/Co-opticast, ect.) at certain times, different types of music throught out the day. (Classic Rock mornings, Metal Middays, New Rock int he afternoons).
would anyone be interested?

Like every old Dawg I'd love to help you out but I find the Distractions of the Cyber variety to be overwhelming and I am unable to find The Voice needed to do anything good. Although I hear lemons may help this situation I'm unwilling to go down that Road

Nope.
I'll be too busy buying multiple copies of The Golden Compass so I can hand 'em out on the street for free. Everyone should see that flick.

If i am the person you seem to absolutely GAY for, then why am i still here after 100+ posts?
don't you think i'd have been hung up on a cross and banhammered long ago?
it kills you that you are so hung up on one person, that you find any way to prove every new memeber is him with another alt name.
why don't you and psuedo screw off and get a life.

Ed McMahon and the Prize Patrol is coming to congratulate you for winning ColonyOfGamers :D
Nitetrain:
I presume the reason you haven't been banned is because you've been on good behavior, no matter who you are. The way I see it, if you ignore the banter and make nice, people would drop it.

Not being a douche also helps significantly.
What you need to understand is the fact that very few people on this planet can successfully pretend to be some one they are not. You need an exceptionally good understanding of not only yourself but of those you are trying to fool, then you need the discipline to not act like yourself, especially in stressful or exciting situations and finally you need the intelligence to put it all together in a believable manner. You fail on pretty much all counts.
Is it possible you're not this person? Yes.
Is it likely you are not this person? No.
If I'm wrong then so be it but I don't think I am. The interest in radio, the homosexual insults and religious references, if if you're not who we think know you are you are enough like him for me to know this won't end well.
Considering the way you have acted in the past mixed with the fact that you're essentially lying to everyone here about who you are how is it that you can expect to be a part of this community. The lying alone shows that you have no respect for anyone here which in turn will get you no respect back.
I'd like to think I know the founders of this site well enough to say that if you would have knuckled up, contacted one of them and apologized for your past actions (again) they probably would have given you yet another chance at which point you could have been an honest member of this community. Therefore if anyone were to have problems with you being back they would have to take it up with the founders of the site and would be in the wrong for chastising you. Unfortunately for yourself you chose the route you did which makes you fair game.

I totally agree with grifter nitetrain. If this is nothing but a cloud of deception and you really care about this community the way we do, show it some respect and come clean, otherwise you aren't welcome here.
If you just happen to be a guy that is like another guy that left a bad taste in our mouth, that's just bad luck. Riding the storm or quietly exiting are your only choices.
Personally, I'm on the fence because I haven't seen any bad conduct on your behalf, although I can't ignore the obvious comparisons being drawn.
This thread has been hijacked to high hell though ;)
Internet Radio Station? I'd have to pass. I listen to NPR, my music collection, podcasts, or rainwave.cc, kinda all tied up in things that already please me. Don't let that trounce your ambitions though. If you want to start one, doing it for your own reasons is more motivation than anyone here can give you.

Also, you would not have gotten his reference if you did not know what he was speaking about. Plus you/cyberdistraction/thevoice/roaddawg all type the same way. It's pretty obvious, really.

Bingo. you had exactly the same thought I did. His denial was a little too detailed and offended in tone to be anything but an accidental admission of exactly who he is.

I'm in no way claiming he is or isn't anyone we have known before, but part of the reason he "gets it" could be because he was already grilled over this in a different thread. I too thought the response was far too revealing, but after reading that thread as well, I'm at least open to the possibility.
Just saying. Again, I'm making no assumptions either way.

I doubt it. The man's been through several of his own failed start-ups, including a music forum he asked me to be a forum mod of (lol). Plus his connection with radio broadcasting and his ordeals with Scott/Psykoboy, and what not. I dunno, I find it hard to believe. Personally, I think he's just one of those people who keeps coming back after getting banned from multiple forums multiple times.
He's being a little too touchy over this and it's showing.

I'm in no way ruling that out either.
But all I have right now is a hunch, and I'm not jumping the gun without more. There seems to be a little too much coincidence, it's true, but I'm hoping that he (the original he) wouldn't be so blatantly oblivious as to return to a place where everyone hates him. There are a ton of forums out there, move on.
I'm just thinking if it actually isn't him, we're completely railroading some poor guy over it.

Having been accused of being one of those who are banned. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt.
A like minded forum will bring like minded people. Sometimes some of them will appear to be almost the same. Perhaps thats all thats going on?

But no one else has thrown us a Party the way he did, Karak. ;)
I always feel a mixture of empathy and hilarity for these Scooby-Doo threads. I feel bad if they really just are someone who pushes the wrong buttons and reminds us of someone else; the community can be a little rough-and-tumble with a specific kind of poster (usually one who gets into tussles instead of just agreeing to disagree), and that can be hard on a newcomer. I get it.
On the other hand, Tron. =)

Ya and to be honest I really usually don't pay much mind to the online stuff compared to the real world. So if someone is a dick, I forget pretty easy.
In addition there have been a shitton of pin the name on the poster that have been wrong so there is that too. I was just surprised that a normal thread receieved such instant destruction for no reason I could see. But it sounds like some issues happened in a different thread as well.

This is the only reason why I think it is who most of you think it is. If we were mistaken, he wouldn't have gotten my reference at all - hell, I'd look like a downright fool, honestly. However, being included in on the "screw off" (I don't think my simple "Nope." elicited that kind of response) tells me exactly what I wanted to know.

This is what I was thinking. If you're not going to play non-game music, why not just target the much larger market that likes non-game music? I feel like gamers have enough sources of gaming news that a radio station with a couple of podcasts thrown in wouldn't make all that much of a difference.
But hell, what do I know? I ain't no radio dude.

I like to tailor my music to the game I play.
The Darkness? Muse.
Dynasty Warriors? The Wu-Tang Clan.
WoW? And They Will Know Us By The Trail Of The Dead.
RPGs? Reno 911. =)

I kind of get it. I mean... it sounds like he's trying to create an online radio station that caters to the SpikeTV-type "XXXtreem gamerz" audience than an actual gaming-centric radio station.
More power to him if he can get it up and get it to work.

Maybe he *has* learned a lesson in all of this, and knows just to back off and cool down when he's been irked instead of having an instant (and catastrophic) reaction.
I think Ani had the right idea - if he can be a member of the community without douching out like the last few times, he's more than welcome here. He'll just have to deal with the fact that his past actions are not easily forgotten - and they probably won't ever be.
If he can come to terms with that, and continue to deal with it without exploding - "Welcome Back," I say.

At what point does showing forgiveness = not learning from one's mistakes?
I'm sure he's learned his lesson...just like he did last time, and the time before that.

Fair point. Like Scott said though, he's gone quiet for now. So I guess we'll see what happens. If he freaks out again, I'll be real quick to turn coat. Haha.
