She's baaack! GLaDOS will be invading your 360 once again next week with the release of Portal: Still Alive. This XBLA title - costing 1200 MS points ($15) - will include all of last year's award winning Portal, as well as 14 new challenge maps and 6 new advanced maps.

Gamers that just can't wait for the release can check out the full list of achievements (http://gamerscoreblog.com/team/archive/2008/10/15/561880.aspx) for the game.

I like quirky achievements, but it looks like you could complete the entire game and never get a single achievement.

Seems like a dumb purchase. You can buy the the whole Orangebox for $27.99 on Amazon. I'm betting none of the new maps have any new GlaDOS dialog.

So this includes the original portal as well? I'll buy it just to have Portal on my hard drive.

Orange Box is stupidly over priced still over here in NZ and I already own HL / ep 1 and 2 so this is good for me since it's all I want out of OB.

How do the controls hold up? I played the PC version and I remember some serious mouse movement, does it translate well to joypad?

Hmm... this is about $1 per new map. I don't know.

They work very well. I didn't have any problems.

$15 bucks for some new maps and achievements? As much as I love this game, I think I'll pass, having already beat it to death in the Orange Box.

Ouch, another $15 game on the most expensive week in gaming. I think I might just ebay another copy of Orange Box and play TF2.

Why not just go for the full Orange Box for just a bit more? The price:content ratio is much better.

Best on the PC, of course :P.

Portal's pretty serviceable on the 360, since quick aiming is rarely a factor.

Unless youre trying for the challenges. For a lot of them, you need to be able to pull off accurate shots quick, but if you crank up the sensitivity its not bad.

As far as I know, there is no new dialog from GLaDOS in this. This will make you realize how important writing is for ANY game as I don't think it'll be as much fun without her.

I've played through all the new maps, GLaDOS is in it. They cut up and remixed the old dialog, and did a pretty good job if you ask me. An entirely new story with new dialog would be great, but that's just beyond the scope of a fan-made mod. I think they did a pretty impressive job finding creative uses for the assets they had.

EDIT: I just checked to make sure, I was wrong. Although the extra maps are taken from the fan mod, they stripped out the dialog. I'm not exactly sure why they'd do that. Furthermore, the new maps are less than half of the maps in the PC mod, which had 40+.

Well, that helps a bit then.

Still don't know if I am interested, however.

This is a fan made mod coming to 360?

So this isn't the same as the fan made prequel? Are these maps going to be released on PC?

Same here, especially since I got rid of The Orange Box a long time ago.

I guess they just took some of the fan made levels and repurposed them for this.

The game is exclusive to Live Arcade, at least for a while, but PC players can get basically the same experience right now anyway. Here’s why.

You may have seen Portal: The Flash Version, a clever Flash-based tribute to Valve’s game. You are slightly less likely to have seen the Portal: The Flash Version MapPack, which recursively ports the Flash game’s levels to Portal itself.

Still Alive’s bonus content consists of 360-certified versions of the levels from that pack. So if you’re a PC Portal owner who, like me, was feeling excluded by Still Alive’s bonus content, fear not: you get to play that content first, and for free.

Just as warning the maps are much harder than the original portal - at least the current ones on the PC are.

Portal was the first game I bought for my laptop aka my first PC game ever played...I talked about it to Ms. Claus so much I promised I would purchase it for the 360 when it came out ...so i'm buying a copy...and hell, i'll play through it again...even just to try some of the odd achievements...

Isn't the source engine a bit big for an XBLA game?
