I always said I'd get one at some point, and you always thoughts "Yeah, yeah. That's just a pathetic attempt not to sound like the Sony fanboy you are". Well, today is that day.

I'm starting to wonder if I should buy multi-platform games on 360 or PS3. I'm downloading some PS3 demos of games I already own to see if anything looks better to me or not.

I bought my PS3 for exclusives...but now use it for all games. Mostly because my 360 is loud as shit and I prefer the Dualshock 3 controller.

Bayonetta is god awful on PS3. Easily the worst port this whole generation. The frame rate sucks and it's blurry as fuck and muddy.

D-Pad = PS3. Pretty much anything else 360, mainly because the games are usually cheaper. Analog sticks are better too.

I'll say it is a bit blurrier, but I played the demo, the framerate is smooth. Well, I played a good 15 minutes of the demo, up to the boss fight with the baby faced angel thing, and I didn't see any framerate issues.

I had both systems, once upon a time. The PS3 had some awesome exclusives. I'll miss Gran Turismo 5 for sure. Uncharted 2, as well.

But none of my friends had one. I mean IRL friends, not you guys. So for anything social or multiplayer, I went 360 - it also at least has a universal friends list and the ability to mute a single player - I'm told CoD4 on PS3 lacked that ability which frankly makes me cry.

I also hate PSN more than anything. Nothing beats near weekly system updates that download like I'm on dial-up, or 1 GB demos that take 6 hours to download. I'd rather pay for something good than take something shitty for free. I'm in my 30s, $50 isn't that much to me.

The DualShock is fine but it's not very ergonomic. Look at how far your wrists bend when you hold it - after long play sessions I had some serious pain going on.

Sony has made some huge marketing errors this generation, and when the next hardware iteration comes out (whenever that is) I'm curious to see if they will have learned, or if they'll repeat their errors. It says something that even with their legendary hardware failures the 360 was able to develop such a huge lead in overall sales at first. Sony used to have massive brand loyalty - will that carry over? Have they learned their lesson about pricing (and humility)?

I dunno. In the end, it's about what you want to play, though, and what system you like more.

Historically, what other console manufacturer keep the exact same console controller design for 3 generations? Sega for 2, Megadrive and Saturn. Nintendo changes theirs wildly between consoles. I'm sure PS controller fans would go if it's ain't broke don't fix it but, for me, the 360 controller is the accumulation of 30 years of controller research and in the field experience. Sweetness in my hands.. (pity the d-pad is a heinous piece of shit... oh well *sobs*).

No idea. I played a ton of Lumines Live, and managed (god knows how), but playing on the PS3 with the DS3 d-pad is sweetness in comparison Although, the PSP-2000 d-pad is still my favourite.

How hard can it be?

DD, play Fable 2. There is the episode/demo thing on XBL, but Fable 2 is a must-play.

I've just adapted to planting claymores, Noob Tubing or firing off an RPG with my night vision on during matches.
