That teaser is pretty sweet. I think it's great that Bioshock 2 won't be a prequel.

Can't wait to find out more, Bioshock was a great game with what I thought was a interesting story. Is there any other concrete news out about this game, besides it's in development?

I really liked the teaser, very much inline with the feel of the first game.

Aw. She misses her daddy.
I think the doll is a nice touch. I cannot get enough of this retro-50s feel. I'm surprised there's not been copycats.

Damnit, my work blocks Youtube. This is such a tease knowing this is out there and I can't get to it!

You should be able to watch it here (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/16/rumor-bioshock-ps3-teases-bioshock-2-sea-of-dreams/) then.

Fuck. Yes. A sequel to this game cannot come fast enough! Have they confirmed or denied that it's a sequel or a prequel? I wonder who it will star, where it will take place. I absolutely LOVED the first game, I had to have played it like 8 times by now.

Slightly older Little Sister holding a Big Daddy doll standing on dry land? Cool, but not exactly much more than an announcement. Also, Sea of Dreams subtitle is a little iffy.
Here's hoping it matches the first game, because I know I'll be buying this one way or another.

Since it's being made by a different team, it's not an instant buy for me... but I'm sure as hell going to at least rent it.

The new logo is the most interesting part of the video. Are those anthills growing all over it?

Why do you feel that it was pathetic? It was a teaser and it teased, mission accomplished.

It teased you? It bored me to tears...in the few short seconds it took to watch it. A teaser should make you want more, right? This kind of clip insults my intelligence...as if a few bread crumbs dropped from the Bioshock table will turn a gamer into a drooling drug addict desiring a fix and willing to pay for it. NOW!

I think maybe you should famiarize yourself with the way teaser trailers are done, you're expecting too much. They've been done that way for many years with movies and now they're being done with games. Think of it as an announcement trailer. Normally they're done with existing properties where people would already be excited about a game/movie based off of the popularity of the franchise.

I never finished the first game in last year's flood, just got it out over the weekend to kill some time until next Tuesday and boy has it held up. Just a glorious piece of game making, I'm in for a new one for sure.

Eh...Bioshock was extremely overrated. It played like a standard shooter and was far too easy (even on hard). The story was excellent though.

My expectations for Bioshock 2 are relatively low. I hope it proves me wrong but Bioshock 1 is a tough act to follow. Improving upon one of the most compelling, finely-crafted, and enthralling games ever seems like a tall order.

This is the second time I've seen you mention Bioshock in a negative context today. I'm surprised...it was a really great experience for me. Hard or not, game was a breath of fresh air. I love atmosphere and experience over all else, and Bioshock delivered. Took me a while to beat it too.

I too have yet to finish the first game. I want to, but at this point I'd probably have to start over, and I'm dreading having to do so. :(
Still, I need to finish it!
Edit - Forgot to add that I love what I played of the game. It's amazing.

Really? A piece of marketing has pushed you away from the game? That's too bad.

Couple of questions. Did you play it through on hard without using the vita-chambers? Did you play it on PC or 360? I found the atmosphere great and the plot at least good enough to keep me interested. Without using vita-chambers medium seems just right to me; but I am clearly not the best FPSer. I only do PC.

The trailer gave me tingles....I loved Bioshock. Easily in my top 3 games i've ever played. I want that Big Daddy the little girl is holding :d. Maybe that will be the pre-order goodie...

Nah...I didn't like the teaser, but Bioshock was one of my favorite games of the year. I'll be getting the sequel, even if it involves an alternate universe where Rapture is actually an underwater Disney theme park. :D

I'm almost with you being surprised on someone not liking Bioshock...but no game will be liked by all. Although the reasoning is ...I mean how do you say the story was great but gameplay was "meh"? For me it blended together....but that's just my opinion...not sure what kind of gameply in a shooter that be enhance to the point of OMG at this point with shooters...

Where are you in the game? Maybe we can help you refresh what has gone on so you can pick it up again. This needs to be played by you...and finished...

If you got to the Orphanage, just pretend that is where the game ends, I know I do.

info put by a 'trusted source' but under a fake name saying the game is part prequel and part sequal... you have to take it as fake but it's an interesting idea

I didn't want to see another game in the Bioshock universe. It felt complete already.
