View Full Version : PLAYSTAYION 3 is no more

In a downright lame attempt to garner more attention, Sony changed the 'official' name of the PlayStation 3 to PLAYSTATION 3. Well, it turns out that it wasn't just you and I that didn't like being shouted at, since after today's firmware update, the obnoxious capitalization is gone.

"PLAYSTATION Store" and "PLAYSTATION Network" are now "PlayStation Store" and "PlayStation Network" respectively.

The whole 'all caps' thing was as dumb as naming french fries into Freedom Fries. :rolleyes: Gawd, I'm glad that's all over.

Actually, it is. It's the difference between BUY IT NOW and Buy It Now. There's very clear marketing guidelines, and Sony ignored them.

I don't ever remember SEGA not being capitalized though. I just found it weird that Sony changed "PlayStation" to "PLAYSTATION" for whatever reason. Honestly, I don't really care all that much, but I think it looks better back as "PlayStation."

Well I would know, if the goddamn update would ever download. It's been going for almost 1/2 an hour and it's maybe 40% done.

Wow, man. It went really fast for me, and I noticed others noting it's speed as well. Maybe you should restart the download? Turn off BitTorrent?

Genesis-era "SEEEGAAA" was pleasant, but when Dreamcast was around and fuckin' ears were yelling "SEGA!" at me, I... I just had to call it a day.

Not only that but Sega was a shorter version of the original Service Games as I remember. So that'w wouldn't have made a lot of sense to not have it all caps.

It's actually the same exact font, haha. I read an article about it or something a long time ago. Pretty funny.
