One of Sony's main focuses at the TGS yesterday was their Motion Controller (which is still a tentative name). In addition to a more detailed description of just what's inside of the controller (3 axis gyroscope, 3 axis accelerometer, rumble) we learn that it will launch for the PS3 in the Spring of 2010. The system will use the existing Playstation Eye to track the controller, but it won't have to be purchased separately.
An early list of games which will work with Sony's Motion Controller.
Ape Escape (Working Title)
Echochrome 2 (Working Title)
Eccentric Slider (Working Title)
Sing and Draw (Working Title)
Champions of Time (Working Title)
Motion Party (Working Title)
The Shoot (Working Title)
Tower (Working Title)
PAIN
Flower
Hustle Kings
High Velocity Bowling

I could go for some HD Wii type stuff, but it all depends on how much it'll cost to get the control setup. I have a Wii already, so it's going to have to be pretty affordable, package the whole thing with a game for $90 and I can see it.

I agree Gorvi. But I sort of dislike motion controls, so I'm not completely down with it. But the HD aspect is huge for me, and if the Wii had some sort of HD version I'd probably buy one, to be honest.
I'm shallow, what can I say?

Those titles have 'hardcore' written all over them.

Looks like games made for the controller instead of grafting the controller onto games where it may not be very suitable. GOOD.

I really like the look of Sony's motion controller. It seems like it will be a lot more accurate and responsive than the Wii-mote (even with motion plus). I'm with Gorvi though, it's all about the price. I purchased a Wii and the 7329743 accessories that go along with it and it sits there and collects dust until I have friends over (then it is admittedly a blast but is it worth it?). The best games I've played on the Wii (and don't get me wrong, I've played quite a few good Wii games) weren't necessarily better experiences because of the controls but in spite of the controls. There are, of course, exceptions. Metroid Prime Corruption and Wii Sports Resort spring to mind. I would have been perfectly happy playing Galaxy and Twilight Princess on a Gamecube or Classic Controller, however.
So yeah, wait and see for me. If the price is right and there are some "must have" titles that go along with the new controller, you'll probably see me in line.

I like motion controls when they're used appropriately. I haven't played Wii game yet that didn't, but then again, I haven't played that many Wii games. That being said, if given the option, I'd rather play the games in HD all things the same. Of course, with Nintendo still being the best at actually implementing the motion controls in games, that would still leave most of the best games that use them on the Wii. :p

I think that about does it. ;)

Of the games I recognize, none of them seems like they would be that much better with motion control. That said, Sony controller seems really accurate and I'm excited to see what new games they're releasing.

Knowing nothing but the title, if "Champions of Time" doesn't involve resurrecting Freddie Mercury and having Queen do the soundtrack for the game, there is nothing right with the world.

I would pre-order that in a heartbeat.

I instantly thought of making giant sweeping motions of your arms to simulate the hands of a clock.
