....Death Magnetic isn't all that bad. It's no masterpiece, and it's absolutely NOT a return to form, but there's some good shit in there.

I didn't care for Unforgiven III, but it kinda grows on you. Also, Kirk fucking kills it during his solo. Best solo in the album.

The album could have done without Cyanide.....that song sounds like a reject from St. Anger with a solo added in.

The whole album came off as a retread to me, familar sounds from their most famous songs without the heart and soul that made them great.
Just another attempted cash-in IMO

I could have lived without the instrumental track, personally.

I give it a 5 or 6/10. It decent at best, but really we can do without it. If it was done by an underground thrash metal or pop rock band, none of us would even care.

I love the CD, from front to back, but I dont feel like championing it this time. I'll just say that Metallica has found their way back onto my regular play list and its good to have them back.

I've only heard the songs of Death Magnetic on my Guitar Hero III DLC and I think they are generally pretty good. :)
I can't wait my copy of Guitar Hero: World Tour so I can drum while singing out the following lyrics:
"How can I be lost, if I got nowhere to go.."
and
"God, I'll make them payee..."

I personally really enjoy the cd, there's a few tracks that are duds, but overall its by far the best thing they've done since ...And Justice For All.
