Civ4: Fall From Heaven II

First off, if you own Civ and the related expansions, and haven't checked out this mod, you should go do that now (http://kael.civfanatics.net/). I picked it up before Beyond the Sword game out, and played a co-op game with a buddy. Was an absolutely awesome time.
I had been playing Age of Booty, which made me long for a hex-based game. So naturally, I went to Civ... and saw FFH sitting there in the Civ folder. Just checked for the latest and greatest, and am downloading now. Anyone else play with this mod? Really something worth seeing if you're a civ fan, if for no other reason than seeing the impressive amount of work these guys have put in.

And on a related note, if anyone else likes this maybe we could get a game going this weekend?

I've had this bookmarked for a while, but just haven't gotten around to downloading it yet. I think I first saw it mentioned on the CivFanatics website.

Does it play like Civ: Magic did back in the day?

Never played Civ: Magic, so I can't really say. However, it is a pretty complete overhaul of the civ game. I should have noted up there that it requires the latest version of BtS to play.

I read about this some time ago and it looks very interesting, but I'm waiting for the final version to be released before I delve into it.

I think this is one of those things that will never see a version 1.0, considering they're at .34 and have been working on it for ages. And to be entirely honest, I can't image what all is missing at the moment. It seems very robust, with a huge number of races/leaders and a wide variety of new features. It also seems very stable; played for about 6 hours yesterday with no crashes/hiccups/etc.

Waiting for 1.0 will probably keep you from trying a fantastic mod. I'd suggest sucking it up and giving it a go.
