So my sister asked me a question today and for some reason I'm drawing a blank. Does anyone know of a product that can be installed on a machine to make it so a web browser can only access specific sites? Basically I'm looking for something easy to use and cheap that she could put on her kids computer to make sure they aren't getting to sites they're not supposed to be at.

NetNanny (http://www.netnanny.com) is what you're thinking of, right?

Yeah I think so. For some reason I was thinking more of the white listing method you can do in Safari but on a Windows based machine. Just so you can say they can only go to this handful of sites or what not

Is the title of this thread supposed to be a reference to Home Alone? Or is it just me.

I thought it was a reference to The Hudsucker Proxy.

Could probably be done with the safe/bad site filters built-into IE, but probably a bit complex compared to dedicated parent control software.

Also, an awesome service to get more speed out of your net connection.

Was about to suggest this myself.

It's a great way to block sites, it's free, and no program is being used in the background.
