Wait... CRAP! I totally answered the thread title in the poll, thinking that was the question. D'oh! I can't really say that I put the two together.

I almost did the same thing.

As for a likeness between the two, I don't see it. If the resemblance is in the voice I think I would need to hear Palin say more than three words at a time to judge it.

The younger ones may not remember this, or know of it. But in the dark ages before the BBS, cartoons were run primarily on Saturdays, a few hours after schools, and only on major networks. We had to arise early to catch such ancient arts as The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mutant League, X-men, Spiderman, the Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures, and Bobby's world(with Howie Mandell lending his voice to a myriad of characters.), and Life with Louie(Louie Anderson doing the same).

I grew up with all this shit.
The younger ones!?
How old are you, KingG?

We had some great cartoons in those days. I still remember when USA would play Hana-Barbera cartoons for half the day. Recently my puppy decided I'm no longer allowed to sleep past noon on Saturdays anymore. I made the mistake of seeing what posed for Saturday morning cartoons these days. I didn't think it was possible to make "Pokemon but not Pokemon" that many times.

I watched Bobby's World all the time, along with Darkwing Duck, TMNT, X-Men, Batman, Animaniacs, ad nauseum. Those were good times.

His mom reminds me of Palin only because they both have fake and exaggerated midwest accents.

Dear god, my dad was just pestering me to send him a video of that show so he could prove how much Palin was like Bobby's mom!

Also, he does perhaps the best Eek the Cat impression on the face of the earth.

Its more a Canadian accent than anything. Midwesterners don't have an accent (barring the occasional words like "warsh"), thats why everyone in the news tends to sound like them.

Palin has that "Fargo" accent thing going on. Its far from "midwestern" if anything I'd call it a "border" accent since it only seems to appear when Americans and Canadians get too close to each other.

I answered the question in the thread title in the poll, my bad.

Either way, you are damn right I used to watch Bobby's World, along with all of those other great saturday morning cartoons. As for Palin, the voices very much so, but otherwise...

...and that was pretty funny Rock Bandit.

Now that you mention it ... YES!
