Essentially, the AP released a photo of a severely injured marine by the name of Joshua Bernard, despite the family and the Secretary of Defense (Robert Gates), asking them not too.

The same AP which wouldn't publish the Mohammed Cartoons because of what they called an "overabundance of empathy"

Looks to me like a combination of sensationalism and anti-war journalism. I know it wouldn't go anywhere, but in a country where someone can sue over ownership of the word "edge," this marine's family should be able to sue over emotional distress, particularly when it was made clear that the image was not to be published.
If I had been a soldier on the scene, I might have struck the journalist taking the photo. And then I would have been crucified.

I'm fucking sick of one-upmanship and hypocrisy in journalism, especially when it comes at the expense of innocents.
As Prizefighter said, had I been there I would have snookered the photographer and dealt with the consequences.

But Tel! People must be reminded that war is grisly! Afterall, without the media's constant reminders, how would we, the peon masses, know that war is bad?
I say bravo, AP, for having the balls to do the exactly what every other "news/journalistic" all while jumping on a moral high horse! Bravo, you steaming pieces of fucking shit.
