So last night my friend invites me over. Looks like he has spent the last 3 days making his own TCG based an Iron Kingdoms-Spell Jammer-Dragonlance mix.
Holy shit it's awesome. The dude spent 40 bucks at Kinko's getting the stuff laminated, mixed some rules from systems he liked including some wicked dice stuff from Dragon Dice.
You CAN NOT tell this stuff isn't professional he even made a damn mat.
Made 600 cards, mostly fan art he spent 3 weeks gathering from the net.
ya it's probably a fucking lawsuit just WAITING to happen.
But have any of you guys done this.
I am trying to find software to do this myself.

Back in middle school some friends and myself made a Magic based Star Wars and Star Trek card game. It sucked something fierce.
However, another friend of mine created a completely original ruleset and created a bunch of cards based on fiction he wrote himself. It was totally awesome. He even made expansion packs that included people and current events from our school. About 50 people in my school played it for almost our entire 8th grade year.

While not perfect, I've seen people use this site for making proxies.

Karak, you should try this online card maker software:
http://TradingCardMaker.NET
You can insert energy/mana symbols, and even customize the card blanks and symobls, and pick fonts/colorts/etc.

Pretty flexible if you look around for templates people have built for various game systems. Good stuff.

The download page on that site had a metric crapload of templates ot work with, and a link toward the bottom linked ot even more. I found the VS game had a few basic template types that served my need very well, plus they weren't too tough to modify.

If you are looking to make a game without having to make the components yourself, you could look at The Game Crafter. (http://www.thegamecrafter.com/home) Design your cards and order a set at cost for yourself. You can even sell it through their website if you want.
