Um, well, the movement system was kinda neat. I wish more games did that gridless turn-based thing, it reminds me of miniature games.

As for the rest, an unsurprised WTF that SEGA of today clearly has never played, or even seen, a fucking Shining Force game.

I don't know what the shit that was, but it wasn't no Shining Force, no matter how much they want to slap that label on there for the sake of selling it to sucker fanboys.

I think we can all agree that Sega has little respect for the original Shining Force titles. That said, this one looks MORE like an old-school Shining Force game that the recent Shining titles we've gotten. At least this one is a turn-based tactical strategy title.

I appreciate that it was clearly inspired by classic Shining Force games and that it's not just a total remake. Granted I would more than likely buy a Shining Force remake (ala War of the Lions), but I'm even more looking forward to a game that at least ATTEMPTS to advance the series.

This might be decent...but there won't be any Shining Force games, in my mind, except for the original 2, the sega CD and game gear versions(Saturn too, but I never played it). Is it really asking so much that they return to the style that made me love them?

That's the GBA remake of the first right? The game gear version, Sword of Hajya, was pretty good too.

Back on the topic of this game, The gridless system reminds me of Makai Kingdom...which I own, but only played once due to time constraints. Perhaps I'll give it another go over Christmas.
