So my return flight just got delayed by 4 months. Looks like I need to make some phone calls tomorrow.

EDIT: Contacted Orbitz and should hear back within a few hours (hopefully).

Wow, um, if they'd have just made it a few extra days I would have offered to let you stay at the house but four months... bit much :p

Oh yay, I get to make some calls in the morning.

Dear Orbitz Customer,

Thank you for contacting Orbitz.

I understand your flight has been changed by four months.

Schedule changes are determined by the airlines. Orbitz does not make these changes; we only monitor your reservations throughout your journey and make every effort to alert you when the airline makes a schedule change.

Due to the detailed nature of schedule changes it is difficult to handle them through e-mail. I ask that you contact our specialized schedule change desk at (800) 323 5717 if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,

Vanya Siddarth
OrbitzTLC Team

if you end up getting hosed email your story into the consumerist. they are usually pretty good at making companies realize they need to drop the dosage on their stupid pillls.

Will do. Hopefully I can get through with logic tomorrow and if not, then we can call this plan B.

Not that it will actually happen...but if shit goes down hill and you need to buy a ticket from a different airline, let me know and i'll chip in.

Edit: Or you can fly w/ me to Boise (50$) and stay for 4 months :)

Heh, thanks man, but I am good with money. The real issue lies with just how ridiculous it is and the unnecessary trouble I will have to go through to fix it.

Add this to the fact that someone tried to syphon my gas yesterday. I think a neighbor accidentally scared them away before they could, but it seems they screwed up the intake and I need to get that fixed. :(

I wonder what my #3 will be...(ugh)

So, because the airline industry constantly changes schedules, Orbitz changed your return flight to FEBRUARY??!?!?! Though, maybe the tickets will be cheaper then and Orbitz can give you a rebate check for the difference...

Well that was fairly painless. In total it took about 45 minutes, most of which I was on hold. She kept checking in and thanking me for my patience (she was very helpful and so I was as courteous as can be). It was pretty funny how the conversation started.

Her: Well what seems to be the problem?
Me: I have an issue with a flight being rescheduled.
(give her the tracking #)
Her: Well what do you find unacceptable about...oh.
Me: Yeah

Pheh. I still say you need to find out the dish on the local hobo scene just in case. Your arrogance will be your demise!
