I don't know if many of you know this, but Playitreviewit (http://www.playitreviewit.com) has a webcomic penned by alienmastermind (http://www.playitreviewit.com/alienmastermind), and I have to say, it's a pretty darn good one! I thought I'd start posting it over here at Colony of Gamers, since it is a gaming related comic in the network, and I'm hoping that more of you will partake, and enjoy its bi-weekly goodness. If you want to catch up, you can head over to the archive (http://www.playitreviewit.com/dipswitch/archive) to check out the last 9 comics posted.

This weeks comic (http://www.playitreviewit.com/dipswitch) is a little late to the party, but it still makes me smile. After years of enduring Jack Thompson's tirades, he finally got what was coming to him. It warms my heart that Thompson was finally stopped from perverting our legal system with his own personal crusade against video games. I often admire people who stand up for what they believe in, especially when they are a lone voice amongst many. That being said, Thompson stood up for what he believed in, in a totally disrespectful and unprofessional manner. I may not have liked, or agreed with what he was arguing, but had he approached it in a way that wasn't reminiscent of a child throwing a tantrum, I would have at least been able to respect what he stood for.

Anyways, alienmastermind (http://www.playitreviewit.com/users/alienmastermind) titled the comic based off the old arcade game Karate Champ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karate_Champ). In full disclosure, I've never heard of this game before, let alone played it, so it holds no nostalgic value for me, hopefully it does for someone else. As for the actual crux of the comic, alien felt that Thompson reminded him of what the Mad Hatter from Disney's Alice and Wonderland would have been like had he been real. I have to agree, and would love to see him arguing a case looking like he does in this piece.

Check out the next edition of dipswitch (http://www.playitreviewit.com/dipswitch) on Thursday!

lol You're a year older than me! Just a game I never caught in the arcades.

Are you referring to the Van Damme movie? If not, I don't know what Bloodsport is. But I love me some old school Van Damme movies.

Thanks! Was looking for the archive.

Although when I just went to PiRi, I felt like an idiot not realising it's there on the right side of the page. *sigh*

damn, i guess that makes you old too! :)

yeah, i meant the van damme movie.....there's a scene where the biker guy is playing the arcade game, and van damme somehow is able to channel his rigorous training into video game skillz and beat the snot out of him

this is even more ridiculous due to the two-stick control scheme the game used....i don't think ANYBODY was actually good at this game :D

my first exposure was the NES version. it didn't have the two stick control method (though i think it may have supported P1 and P2 pads to mimic this), but even with just a d-pad and two buttons, the game was uncontrollable......yet still addictive
