i'm one of those people that was silly after college and went and ran up a credit card and had to do consolidation and stuff, so.. i dont have a credit card at the moment.

its a constant pain in the ass.

so i got my wii back tonight (the now ex didnt want to keep it even tho i bought it for her...whatever fine by me) and i decided i wanted to buy that final fantasy sequel they have on the wii store...but its 11:30 at night and i have no credit card.

so i did some googling and found this site - http://www.gametimezone.com/

maybe if youre like me you already know about it - but i didnt hehe.

anyway, i threw caution to the wind, said i'll risk it, clicked the buy through paypal thing, and voila, dude called me to verify my name and stuff, and 2 mins later i had a working code for 2k wii points in my inbox.

i'm not pimping the site or anything, but its handy cuz this has been a pain for years for XBL points, PSN points or even EQ subscription (wow takes paypal so no biggie there), but this is a gaming site, and i figured im not the only one out there whos bad with money so i thought that since these sites can be risky and i found this one thats actually legit and works, i'd share - from what i understand, theres lots of people whove been screwed by similar sites, so i figured i'd post some good feedback on one that i found that actually worked :)

cheers!

25% markup is a little much, I think.

Sony Playstation Network $20 Card (US PS3 Accounts Only)
$24.99

Who has a bank account to use with Paypal but no debit card?

And even so, who would then buy their game cards from a shady internet site at 25% markup, when you could just buy one from your local Gamestop or Wal-Mart or any number of other major retailers for retail price with cash?

Yeah really, WTF? I've had a debit card since I was like 16.

That seems like the more relevant question.

At no point did any of the steps you took make sense.

Let's give him his moment to shine? I mean he's happily playing one of the few Wii games that are not shovelware titles.

Oh and the fact that he's Canadian doesn't help. Our debit cards don't double as credit cards like they do here in the states. Unless they've changed that recently.

...That really sucks. Is there a reason for that?

Honestly I really don't know, I think it might be due the fact that Canadians really don't put emphasis on credit ratings like they do down here in the States.

I could be completely off base though :P

...or you could just go to Wal-Mart and buy a pre-paid VISA card?

Walmart does not sell pre-paid VISA cards in Canada. IIRC, the only place you can find them is from a banking chain in B.C.
