Found floating around the net today are numerous brochures for a Nanosuit 2 designed by 'Crynet Systems'. You can check out their website at http://www.crynetsystems.com/

Apparently, Crysis 2 will be bringing a brand new Nanosuit to the battlefield. Simply dubbed version 2, the suit's product brochure details in tech heavy language that its supposed to shield from EMP (those of you who have played Crysis Warhead know how painful that shit can be) as well as a neural interface (which is mambo for a revised HUD, probably a design choice warranted by the move to console platforms). Tonnes of other details as well, but I can't make much out of it aside from some kind of adrenaline boosts and energy recharges on the battlefield.
Oh, and by the way:

Wouldn't this be general gaming?

This interests me. You know, I don't really understand all the Crysis 1 hate. Maybe it wasn't the Casablanca of gaming, but it was one of the best shooters I've played. One thing's for sure, nobody does presentation like Crytek.
Maybe if they're easing off the throttle in the graphics department for consoles, they can focus on other aspects.

I thought Crysis was great, especially the first act or two. It was open, had solid gameplay, and looked amazing. I think a lot of the hate was from people that never played it or people that bought it but it didn't run well on their rigs.
In fact, I've always argued that Crysis is the best superhero simulator ever made. You never felt overpowered due to the nature of your character, i.e. you weren't a bullet sponge or your guns didn't shoot mini-nukes or something like that. You felt overpowered because of your potential, because of the feats you could pull off if you finessed your power suit's abilities.
You didn't plow through an enemy base like a ham-fisted bulldozer. You utterly dismantled it like some kind of commando ninja.
In Halo or Quake you played Superman, in Crysis you played Batman/Deadpool.

If anyone here likes the first game, I'll highly recommend Warhead. That game kicks things up ten notches and makes you feel like a REAL badass, thanks to the levels being designed specifically for playing around with the suit (strength and cloak, especially) unlike in Crysis.

I got a lot of joy out of sneaking up next to enemies. Line up a shot through the ears, decloak (to avoid all my energy being depleted by the shot), fire a shot, and shimmer out of sight before the guy hit the ground.
They may not know from story, but the nanosuit and the weapon accessory system were fantastic.

I didn't like the gameplay in Crysis and I thought the story was super dumb. But the engine was a hell of an accomplishment, and I don't have a super-duper rig or anything.

You didn't like the fact that you had a choice as to where to go and how to do? Or did you just not like the suit? I wish more FPS's had gameplay like Crysis.
Heading to the village with the gas-station to rescue those/that people/person (forgot)...I will always remember that section, in all of gaming.

I hated the imprecise controls - felt like I was never hitting where I was aiming. I hated the super-powers that lasted about .5 seconds. The whole game felt like wasted potential to me - not really a good sci-fi shooter, not a very good "realistic" shooter.
About the time it turned out that I just so happened to have fucking zero-g maneuvering jets built into the suit, I was feeling pretty fucked by the game's story as well.
Don't get me wrong - there where a lot of things I liked, but to me it felt like "the engine a really good game could be built on" instead of "the engine we built a Sci-Fi channel direct to TV movie on".

Aiming could be fixed by crouching, going prone or using the suits strength feature to steady out your shots. (Even though personally, I NEVER had trouble with headshots)
The suit powers can easily be altered in the config files to do anything you want, including run faster than a cheetah and jump like you can in Crackdown.
I love this game, but I hardly play it the way they designed it to. With a few tweaks here and there you can really ramp up the difficulty while giving yourself a much more powerful suit to even out the odds.
I highly recommend everyone to tinker with the configs and mods before you just shelf the game as "another FPS with a bad story."

Actually, I found the suit powers default settings to be just right.
When cloaked, your energy drains at a MUCH lower rate if you move around by crawling rather than running. In Armor mode, your health regenerates 2x faster. Your recoil goes down to zero in Strength mode, so you can smash those smaller aliens in one second worth a burst.
Combine that with the suit shortcut buttons (Tap sprint twice, tap BACK twice, tap jump twice etc.) and you can have your little nephew sit down next to you and have him witness the best FPS playthroughs that you just can't find in any Halo or Bioshock at all.

I guess I just play the game differently. I enjoy cranking up my sprint speed so you actually "feel" the power of the suit, as well as it helps me do my Crackdown-esque super jumps into enemy bases :D. And since I play on a tweaked Expert difficulty, I give myself a bit more suit armor and a tad more health while lowering the AI variables so they continue to press me even when I have low health.
The beauty of this game/engine is that if you have the patience, you can really make this game play however you want.

Now the shortcuts were something I could never get the hang of. Never felt comfortable with it, never got it right. I just got good at bringing up the selector - V key, I think - and twitching the mouse at the mode I wanted. Might have thrown my aim off a tiny bit if I didn't have exact timing, but it was at least as fast for me as using any shortcuts.

That's the thing, you cannot pull off a strength mode jump in the middle of a speed sprint if you only use the radial menu. It takes a little bit of getting used to, but boy... once you get the hang of it...
