I'll probably start drinking around lunch at the pier then :) Which reminds me. If anyone likes seafood, there's a really good restaurant at the marketplace a couple blocks away.

I'll probably start drinking expensive airport booze in my 2 hour layover in ATL.

And 2 weeks + 36 minutes from now the doors open to PAX.

I'll be calling Von's this weekend and booking the back room. After I finish up the head count in that other thread.

Why are people drinking at a grocery store? Shouldn't we pay for the bottles, first? :D

Which one? :p

Um, the one with good seafood. It's somwhere in the middle. Near to some stand selling flowers, but before the beef jerky guy I found last year. :D

I love it when non-seattle residents come to town....

Also, be wary of the food at Von's... I served there for a while. The burger's good, the fries are good... uh.. yeah.

The food seemed to be good last year. Or maybe I was just hungry.

Mmk, so you know, the ones ON THE WATER are better than the ones in the market :p

Yeah... these people... they have an unnatural love for Von's. I don't understand it.

There's water?

(j/k. Just a gag for those who go to PAX and never make it more than a block away from the convention center ;))

Yeah... these people... they have an unnatural love for Von's. I don't understand it.
It's close to PAX and it has booze. :D

Plus, hardly any of you were there the first time most of us made it to PAX.

You never forget your first. And we make it a point to always hit up the joint when we go to PAX. We just happen to bring along a shit load of people the second time around. And well, it became their first as well and....you can see what happened here.

I think this one was on the water. I don't remember the name, but I know it if I see it.

I don't get the Vons love either, its ok. I just go cause its fun to hang out with everyone, plus they are very accommodating with our large group.

I believe that's precisely why we like it. The food quality varied, and some of the stuff was vastly more expensive than it should been (though the martinis were dirt cheap compared to other bars), it's mostly that we go there for the atmosphere of the group, as well as they actually accommodate such a group.

There are tons of places that can accommodate a large group... you should see the size of groups we get when the Enforcers do a food run...

It was funny, I've never been to Von's before but last night we ended up driving by it on the way to the Seahawk's game. I've probably driven by it many times and never given it a second thought then all the sudden I noticed it in my peripheral vision and said to my wife, "Hey, that's where we're meeting the CoG people on Thursday?" She said, "What do you mean we?" Apparently, I forgot to tell her. Oops! Well, she's probably still going, just has to make sure she hasn't already scheduled something else.

Eh, we do stuff like that to each other all the time. We are both pretty busy with life so remembering to mention stuff brought up in the middle of the day tends to get left out. As long as it doesn't screw anything up we don't usually care. If she can't make, sad. She'll be with me Saturday afternoon though.

The fiance and I have several google calendars that we have shared and sync up to our phones. We've both screwed up major events enough to warrant it, and it works pretty damn well.

If he is coming up via Miami, Boston is much closer than Seattle. That and I have a sneaking suspicion there will be a lot of CoGgers at PAX East. Maybe even more at PAX East next year than at PAX West.
