Hey guys, PAX is almost here and having people's cell phone numbers is a huge help. I have created a google document so people can add their numbers. PM me your email address and I'll send you an invite so you can edit it with your number.

Is there anyone who does not have texting as part of their plan, so I know not to text/charge them?

I don't have it but it's cheap enough where I can do very limited texting...VERY LIMITED.

I've put my normal number on there for texting. I also put my skype number on there. I still get the phone calls on my phone (I've set it up that way) but it doesn't accept text messages.

Calling me will probably be cheaper since it's not an international number.

Only if you want smilies texted back. :D

PM sent. Feel free to text me, I have unlimited SMS. I check it pretty regularly but sometimes I don't feel in vibrate. During PAX, I may actually use a ring tone, as much as I hate the idea.

What is this Latitude, Voodoo?
Its a Google app that uses your phone's GPS or location finding to show where you are on Google maps. This information is only shared with those that you select. I thought it'd be pretty useful at PAX.

I've got an Android based phone so my latitude updates can be done automatically.

I've got unlimited texts, and that's my Google Voice number anyway. So go crazy. Since it's easy to send mass texts from iPhone, I may end up doing that.

Since Slippy and I will be pretty much stationary during our shifts it might make sense for us to have info so that we can relay it to anyone that comes up to us asking where you crazies are at any given time.

I'm in Raven. I doubt that I'm the right person for this, unless people want to wait until the end of a panel to get that info. :p

I started adding numbers from the Google doc into my phone, and I'm realizing just now how many people have the same name.

3 Andrews (if you add in TZ) and 1 Andy
2 Tims
2 Jasons
2 Joshes
2 Ryans

Awesome. I'll probably be calling most of you by your CoG names though anyway. Is that lame?

Rogue_hunter

Everyone is listed as user name as the first name then actual first name as the last name in my phone. I'll likely be calling most people by their forum name rather than actual name save for a few.

I do it the other way around. Username as last, first name as first. That way when I do a lookup in contacts it shows up alphabetically by username :)

In my phone, it looks like this:

"[CoG] CoG Name (Full Name)"

It's kind of long, but I like the idea of having all the CoG contacts together.

I have my phone contacts sorted by first name, so it goes alphabetically by username for me, too.

In my BlackBerry I've got real names as names, then forum handle as company.

I just did user names unless I call them something different. Example: mightbe is Rob in my phone. Everyone is in the CoG group though, so I can search by group ;)

I think the best one would be "OH, SUAVE PEANUT!"

Yay! I figure it'll be a good way to remember names, too, for the people I didn't meet last year and aren't already friends with on Facebook. ... Even though it does kind of take up a lot of characters.

Well I just finished typing all of those numbers in. The obsessive-compulsive part of me is annoyed by the eight people that I don't have surnames for!
