I just discovered this band, Cloud Cult, who is interesting for their stage shows and their personal lives, but screw that, let's talk about the music.

If you have a way to download this album right now, I highly advise you to do so. Feel Good Ghosts by Cloud Cult is 40 minutes of some of the most emotionally involving music I have heard in a long time. Lyrics that I would have to call positive, sung over music that is often quite sinister, combine to form a very significant experience. The band consists of plenty of piano, guitar, and cello, the vocals range from clean through crazy electronic effects, and while I would not call this a heavy rock album by any stretch, it certainly does rock quite a bit. It's soft and hard. It makes me want to call my parents and tell them I love them, and it makes me want to hide away and cry forever. It's a hug followed by a punch to the face, and I am utterly amazed by it.

It is one of those bands that could be described by all sorts of words that you hate, and put into the same category as all sorts of bands that you hate, and yet you still might like them. If you enjoy unique music, give them a try.

Here's the video for the second track on the album.

My friend Chris absolutely loves this band. They kinda reminded me of The Polyphonic Spree mixed with Of Montreal.

They very much remind me of The Polyphonic Spree, they've got that same kind of slightly epic sound. I don't know Of Montreal, but i'll check em out now.

I would recommend Hissing Fauna or The Sunlandic Twins to start with. Their live performance is insane.
