No, but you can count on my playing until I see one tonight. I cannot wait to see my roommates reaction to this one.

How about some free DLC sponsored by Obama '08? Or maybe a free XBLA/PSN game, like Yaris but fun?

Yes, I saw them last night. Played with a buddy who just got the game for five bucks and he laughed and said. "Great politics are already invading my games"

This is hilarious then. I was thinking it might've been a Photoshop, but if others are seeing these ads, then I guess it's real.
I can't wait to see the McCain/Palin ads on competing in-game billboards.

So what? I played as Bill Clinton and Al Gore way back in NBA Jam. :)

That's pretty interesting. I wonder how involved Obama was in deciding to advertise in video games.

Likely, not very. He's paying someone very well to take care of media buys - and then usually the ad agency makes the specific decisions based upon their goals.

Ha! That's funny. But it's real estate like anything else.

Yep. I actually did a blog post (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/blog.php?b=244)on it.

I've been playing this game for a few weeks now and have yet to see this.

I have yet to see this as well, and I've been playing every night all week. I still see the numerous CompUSA billboards, even after a year.

Well, this story has hit the AP (http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jvjv52elpZjLFePTcOXw_7YQ6pvAD93QGF4O0) now.
Eighteen video games, including the extremely popular "Guitar Hero" and "Madden 09," will feature in-game ads from the Obama campaign in the final weeks before the election. The ads — appearing on billboards and other signage — remind players that early voting has begun and plug a campaign Web site that encourages people to register for early voting.
Obama campaign officials said the video game ads target 10 states that allow early voting, including several battleground states: Ohio, Iowa, Indiana, Montana, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Nevada, New Mexico, Florida, and Colorado.
This may explain why some see them while others don't.

I saw them on the boards in my NHL 09 games last night. I was pleasantly surprised.

These ads don't bother me, but the Snickers and Underarmor ads in Madden def. bother me.

I think these in-game advertisements make these above-mentioned games more realistic and environmentally more immersive.

Depending on the game I agree. In Burnout Paradise it doesn't bother me at all. Obama ads show up on the USG Ishimura and we have problems.

Oh they would totally fit there. Like Will Smith's classic 2003 Converse shoes in the future of I, Robot.

I know it was a joke, but the point remains.
As we speak I am wearing Addidas Powerphase Mids, a basketball shoe from the mid 80s. They are a reissue, much like Will Smith's shoes in I Robot. However I have never seen a campaign commercial for Jimmy Carter.

Really? I'm in one of the biggest battleground states. I'll keep an eye open.

Yeah, New Mexico here and I didn't see one last night while riding around on my bike.
