After months of planning and anticipation I'm not going to be able to go to PAX this year. I have a dear friend getting married that same weekend in Minneapolis and my plan centered around flying from Chicago to Seattle then to Minneapolis early Sunday morning the 6th and driving back to Chicago with my girlfriend, who was going to drive to the wedding Sunday.

But the plan has been altered (including a friend who was going to split hotel costs with me in Seattle) and I can't justify spending so much money when I'm saving for our vacation in October and I just spent much more than I intended on my trip to London.

This blows. But I do have a three-day pass to PAX as well as a ticket to the Blue Skittle party that I hope I can transfer to someone else's name. Is there someone here at CoG who needs either/both of those? I don't want to be reimbursed - I would consider it a donation to the CoG community. If everyone here is set then I'll contact both places and ask if they have some sort of ticket donation thing going on, but I'd rather give the tickets to a CoGer.

Oh, this sucks. I was really looking forward to meeting a lot of you. To think, the only CoGer I might ever meet in person is Mag! Yeesh!


EDIT:

Uno has dibs on the Blue Skittle party ticket. If someone still needs the PAX three-day pass let me know and I'll see if I can transfer that over.

Really sucks that you can't go. I was looking forward to having another person there to represent the mid-fuckin'-west. I'll buy the BS ticket off ya though. Let me know.

I'm really sorry to hear about not being able to go to Pax. If it makes you feel better, I suggest we get some Minnesota coggers together when you come to town and grab beers. There are plenty of bars around my place, and if we want to game we can come back to my place and play on the projector.

I'm in the metro area. I think Wraith and shunoshi are also in the area, others too possibly.

When are we thinking? That is Labor Day weekend so chances are there may be some family getogether at some point that weekend on my side.

Good point - I also know Mag has some plans that weekend (I remember him mentioning family visiting). I'm finalizing my travel plans today but how about we potentially aim for Friday or Saturday night? This should probably be it's own thread...

If it makes anyone feel better (it won't?) I won't be going either, on account of a wedding (my mother's).

Although, it'd be a pretty ballsy move to tell my mom, "Sorry... can't be in the wedding. Need to fly to Seattle to hang out with a bunch of friends and play video games." She'd love that, I'm sure.

Is there anyone that was planning on going and had a hotel room reservation that is no longer going? I know it's late, but work has been hard to plan for lately and today was the first day where I was sure I could miss those two days and not dick anyone over, but all the hotels seem to be sold out (outside of the airport Marriott but that's 15 miles away from the city).

If anyone still has a reservation they aren't going to use, hit me up with PM.
