A while back I bought a Penny Arcade print for this comic:

Obviously I'd like to get said print signed at the signing session on Sunday. I'm fairly certain I'll have to ship this print which is fairly large at 12"x18" and I can handle getting it to the hotel on Friday but shipping it back might be an issue. The signing is on Sunday and I leave too early on Monday to go to a post office.

Anyone got any advice or able to offer any assistance in this matter?

Also it would be nice to know if PA sold prints at PAX. I could just buy a second print and get that one signed; would probably be cheaper than 2 day shipping to Seattle.

There's a FedEx on the first floor of the convention center. Just be sure to get there before 6 pm on Sunday, because that's when they close.

This is a thing I did not know; thanks.

It may not be a possibility for you, but if you can wait for a different venue to have them sign it, I'd do so. I met Jerry and Mike at the NYC comic-con and there was a whole 2 person line to get them to sign stuff. I actually got enough time to chat with Jerry again (a guilty pleasure of mine)

Can you carry a drawing tube on the airplane?

Saves you letting some unwashed heathen handle the print en route. :)

Why ship it at all? Why not place it in between two study pieces of cardboard and place those into an envelope to ensure it doesn't become damaged during the trip? That would seem to be the smart way of doing it, without costing an extra 50-75 bucks (Fed-Ex is expensive if you don't have an account with discounts. Overnight to the US used to cost us 30 bucks one way back when I did it for the company I worked for).

It turns out I may not have to ship it. The cardboard covering won't fit but the print will and it's in a nice protective sleeve to keep it from getting dirty. I can put it in the part of my suitcase that flaps open and it should be protected. It's got a zipper container that it will fit in and the flap is kind of sturdy so it should be ok.

I recommend poster tubing it with some paper to protect it from the tube and just bring it with you. That's how all my fine art prints and screen prints have been shipped to me and it works very well.

This print has never been rolled which is nice.

Don't listen to her. It'd be riding in the back seat along with the reserve bacon donuts she's bringing back for later. ;)

I"ll definitely be transporting the thing myself. I've figured it out. Thanks for the offers though.
