According to XBOX.COM (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/hardware/memoryupdate/default.htm)
If you Enter the Xbox 360 Memory Upgrade Program, they are giving out free 512MB MU's or $20 20GB HDDs to Core owners, and a $30 20GB HDD + 3 months of Xbox Live package to Arcade owners looking to upgrade.
Check it out and apply asap if you are one of those left behind.
Endgadget (http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/13/microsofts-new-xbox-experience-storage-solution-free-memory/) carried the story as well.

Well, it's certainly better than nothing and nice to see that they're trying. But this just proves that they made a huge mistake by not adding an HD with every sku.

A free memory card would be nice. I do have a core...

Free and MS? In the same sentence!? At Least they're trying. This storage needs business might be the best thing to happen to them.

Wow, that's amazing news. Most people laughed at the "gimped" Arcade sku but for $220 (200 for Arcade + 20 for the HD) you can get the "full" 360 experience.

Note: The hard drives on offer are refurbished.
Though it still seems like a pretty good deal for $20.

Meh in my experience, refurbished hard drives actually do better than those fresh off the assembly line- generally refurbs are inspected more closely than new drives.

I bought a core to replace my broken pro system so i already have a HDD, maybe a memory card would be nice to have to take my live account to other peoples houses...
