Activision has just released the official launch trailer for Quantum of Solace - the game based on the upcoming 007 extravaganza.
James Bond is back to settle the score in the Quantum of Solace™game. Introducing a more lethal and cunningly efficient Bond, the game blends intense first-person action with a unique third-person cover combat system that allows players to truly feel what it is like to be the ultimate secret agent as they use their stealth, precision shooting and lethal combat skills to progress through missions.

Seamlessly blending the heart-pounding action and excitement of the upcoming “Quantum of Solace” feature film with the “Casino Royale” movie, the title propels players into the cinematic experience of international espionage. Based on the renowned Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare™game engine that has been specifically engineered to immerse players in the Bond universe, the Quantum of Solace game delivers superior high-definition graphics, reactive AI and visually stunning locations inspired by locales portrayed in the films.
If you're so inclined, you can read what I thought of this game when I spent some time with the single player portion. (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=1029)

The demo that was released was literally 5 minutes long, and it did have a strange feel for an FPS. I think it was the lowered FOV than I'm used to. I also didn't really like the switch between first and third person all the time, I don't need to zoom out to see him climb a ladder, it's not THAT cool. I'm still open-minded since it was such a short demo, hopefully the full game delivers.

Huh, looks like they hit all the notes they wanted to for a teaser trailer. We'll see how it plays though, ya?

Word on the street is that it was pretty good. It wouldn't have taken away from the game to have an original story.

No...the Rogue Agent game was not pretty good. It was bad.

It actually doesn’t look that bad.
But it's still on the rental list for now, unless they release a demo on 360 or PS3.

Who the hell brought up Rogue Agent?! I never played Goldeneye. The game you were talking about. I didn't get a NINTENDO SIXTY FOUR!!!!!!. But the game play of Goldeneye is what made it good right? Not the story from the movie the game?

The game was called Goldeneye: Rogue Agent. That's what I was originally talking about. Sorry.

Two different games. Let's get it together. It's not my fault the game sucked. What was the complaint. Shitty gameplay, controls, graphics, etc?

Dude, you're babbling.
Your original point was that you wanted a Bond game not tied to a movie.
I brought up a game that wasn't tied to a movie that sucked, and the story was a large part of why it sucked. I was responding directly to what you said...I'm confused by your confusion at this point.

Playing as a character not Bond is why it sucked.
Actually in my original post I was wanting a game not tied to the movie. I want THIS game not tied to the movie.

The only Bond game I know of that wasn't tied to any movie in which you did play as Bond - Everything or Nothing - was actually really good. 3PS instead of FPS, which rubbed some people the wrong way, but I thought it worked.
The trailer for QoS is certainly gorgeous, the CoD4 engine clearly holds up well for it. As mentioned, though, the PC demo was more or less a total waste of time. Will wait for reviews and see what happens.
I do find it amusing that in the multiplayer clips, the player being recorded is always Bond, shooting other players playing someone who isn't Bond. A little too much look-how-good-our-Daniel-Craig-model-is, perhaps. ;)

Night fire wasn't tied to any movie either, and was pretty good. It had grappling hooks in the multiplayer that made it a blast, shame that online wasn't a thing at the time or that might have had a little following.
Everything or Nothing was the last Bond game I played, but this looks pretty good.

That's true, I'd forgotten about Nightfire. Also Agent Under Fire, which I think came before it. I didn't play either of those ones, so I can't speak to their quality or lack thereof.
