View Full Version : Batman: Arkham Asylum Demo Coming This Week

Get ready to enter the mad house. Eidos has announced that a demo for Batman: Arkham Asylum will be released this Friday, August 7. The demo will be made available on Xbox Live, the Playstation Network and PCs. The demo will encompass the early part of the game, as Batman returns the Joker to the Asylum just before all hell breaks loose.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is slated for an August 28 release on the 360, PS3 and PC.

The demo has been on PS3 demo units since June if you really want to try it. It looks like an impressive looking beat 'em up, but not a whole lot more than that.

Different demo.

The one in June was just the challenge room, and only a brawl challenge room at that.

This one looks to be what was on the floor at E3. It's the first full level leading up to the Croc fight.

Ahh, that sounds much better then, cause that demo was pretty shallow.

And since it was ignored otherwise, the first 10 minutes of the game (http://www.dailymotion.pl/video/xa0h1g_first-10-minutes-of-batman-arkham-a_videogames)which are probably included in the demo, no gameplay but introduces the plot and looks sweet.

Neat. I wanted a demo for this, because I think it looks like the combat is really shallow. I hope I am wrong, but if I'm right I hope the rest of the game makes up for it.

Maybe the combat gets deeper as you unlock more moves/abilities.

Are we sure this will be on PSN Friday and not Thursday? Because, you know, that's kind of how they do it on the PS3.

Yeah every now and then stuff gets released on days that aren't Thursday on PSN.

I want to play this, but I worry playing the demo will spoil it? Maybe I'm just making too much of a deal out of it...

I don't think the demo will give anything away that you don't already know by the title of the game. Criminals have taken over Arkham, and it's up to BATMAN to take it back. Demo ensues.

As someone who is currently only gaming on PC I find this pretty awesome that we're not getting shafted on a demo or release date. I bought a controller for my PC just for this game.
