At the tone of the beep, it is now August 3, 2009. Please wake up and acknowledge another month has been torn away, tossed into the oblivion known in time as the past. The next tone you hear, is the very loud one of where did my summer go? That’s right gamers, another month down, the start of another weekday in a newer month. A sparkling shiny crisp new month awaits our adventurous minds to see what we have in store for it.
Having survived the weekend with a few of the criminally insane (better known as my parents), I am looking upon my last month to goof off before school which will lead to full time employment again sometime next year. So I will savor my last month of goofing off, the goodbye to summer tour month playing as many games as I can; Which wasn’t happening too much over the weekend since my game playing including only these:
The Longest Journey- so much for finishing this game. I met some stick people and then stuck on some odd puzzle that involved some hollow trees playing AT&T with a giant. I kept hoping he would call me collect…didn’t happen. I was too lazy to “cheat” to find the answer in a FAQ.
Flower, Sun & Rain- Spending the weekend with the criminally insane didn’t help me find my inner weird game playing. Only due to the game sage Spigot, do I not return this game because it’s just a tad too weird of a game for me at the moment.
Treasure World- Now this I was ready to play. Unfortunately, I left it at home. I began to play this last night but nodded off while playing. Ooops….
Tiger Woods ’10 (PSP)- Lots of game time with this. No surprises there. I wish this game had a “hours played” feature. The hours may equal those of someone who played a JRPG epic.
So how went your weekend? Spill your tales of ale drinking, game playing, the people you played with…or just tell us the lesser long tales of what you did and what YOU played.

Final Fantasy XI I didn't do anything major, but still had fun. We got Suave Rank 3, and that's about it.
Heavenly Sword I started this up and despite it not being the most amazing game in the world, I'm enjoying it. The acting, story, and animation in the cutscenes is flat out awesome, and the gameplay is pretty fun. I'm at a long stretch of Kai gameplay right now, for some reason aiming those arrows just doesn't get old.
PixelJunk Eden How the hell did I miss out on this for so long? The game is just great, even though I'm only on the second garden. Definitely one I'll be spending a lot more time with in the next few days.

Aion: I took a mage and a priest up to level 10 to see what the sub classes and wings were all about. Flying is a lot of fun. I know that other games have ways to fly but the fact that you can actually do things in the air (attack, mine) makes it feel a lot different. I just wish I could stay up longer but that is one of those things that are supposed to improve with your level. The main Elyos city is gorgeous. I take back anything bad I said about the graphics in this game. It looks beautiful and runs amazingly well on my mid-range computer (60fps consistently running @ 1920x1080 with 8x AA.... insane!). For some reason I was getting a considerable amount of lag this weekend. I'm not sure if it's my internet connection though since my friend I was playing with wasn't having any problems. Then again, I played FFXI without any issues this weekend as well.
FFXI: I spent most of my weekend FFXI time down in the Quicksand caves running around hunting for keys, coffers (thanks Gorvi!), and hidden stones. I got caught up on my "A Moogle Kupo d'Etat" missions. I'm ready for the next fight now. In addition to this, it was a lot of fun helping Suave Peanut defeat a dragon so that he can continue onto the next story mission that he needs to do. I also spent some time going through my inventory and selling off a lot of the items that I don't use or only use rarely. Between that and some cooking, I was able to make a decent amount of gil this weekend. Top it all off with a few campaign battles last night for a rank up and I was pretty darn constructive.
This week is going to be something on a portable since I am going to be out and about. Airport is fun this morning. Pro tip -don't bundle all of your cables together. It makes the Airport screeners a bit nervous. I have the PSP/DS/Phone/eeePC cables bundled and with all if the mini power bricks I guess it can look like a bomb in the x-ray machine. :D
First flight is delayed an hour and instead of playing a game I am sitting here doing what I love the best, surfing CoG.
Looking to go old school on the PSP. I brought (ripped versions) of Tales of Phantasia and Suikoden. I can't decide which one I want to play. I know I have played them both in the past but I can't remember beating either. I think I beat Suikoden but I just don't remember much about it.

I didn't play a lot of stuff this weekend. Most of what I'd planned on playing just fell by the wayside as I chased kids around, did odd jobs for my parents and napped.
That said, I didn't totally waste my game time this weekend!
Treasure World (DS) - I'm coming up on hitting the 6000 star mark and will probably get this by the time I get home this afternoon. I've cleared all of the outfit constellations and am working on the clusters and galaxies now.
Flower, Sun & Rain (DS) - I'm absolutely LOVING this game now. I'm on about day 6 or so and it's just totally clicking for me now. It's strange and odd and nothing makes sense except for all of the stuff that does. Now I need to find a clue that will give me a 10 digit number so I can save the snotty lady who accidentally drank the poison martini. Silly lady.
Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (PSP) - I'm loving this game and probably have about one or two worlds left to go before I beat it, but I want to punch the person who designed the fight with Luna. It starts off with an awesome homage to North By Northwest but that wears out its welcome after the 33rd time. I can understand why it bumps me all the way back to the start of the three sequences preceeding the actual fight if I end up dying against her, but man, is it ever annoying. That aside, great game.
Peggle Nights (PC) - I finished the adventure mode the other day. Go me.
Bookworm Adventures Deluxe (PC) - All of Tycho's prattling about the sequel reminded me that I never did finish the first, so it got some love last night.
And that's about it. I tried out Wild Arms 2 on the PSP and it looks fantastic, but I didn't actually play it. It will get played eventually though. I also took the demo for Holy Invasion Of Privacy Badman for another spin but it still hasn't quite won me over, at least not for $20.
I can't wait to get home tonight and play some 'Splosion Man and Little King's Story, not to mention the fact that I finally got my copy of Mass Effect and The Witcher back from my buddy, so I can try out Bring Down The Sky (which I bought a year ago and haven't had a chance to try out). It should be worth a laugh to fire up The Witcher on my computer and watch the sparks shoot out of the side, though I'm going to snag the EE patch and see if it helps the performance at all.
And isn't Mothership Zeta out today? I just saw the trailer for it last night and it looks awesome.

Mirror's Edge PC - I received this in the mail Sat after waiting 2 weeks due to shipping error. I almost immediately realized this game plays much better with a console controller. The up down mechanic and quick turn arounds work better on the index finger than on the other dumb fingers. It could just be me though. I'm glad I got the USB 360 controller.
Mass Effect - I went back and re-did the ending to the game. I chose the Paragon choice vs. the Renegade choice that I had originally done. I like the Renegade choice much better. I felt the Paragon one was too much of a "best of both worlds" with little consequence on your part. I have both saved so I'm curious how they will affect ME2 when it comes out. After that I started a new character who is going to go pure Renegade this time around. I want to push people out windows in ME2.

Finally hit 99 and successfully recruited my Lady Knight in Atlantica Online. My LK is fantastic, got her up to 65 and she's already got more defense than my 96 swordsman.
I'm also working my way through The Riven Kingdom, book 2 of the Godspeaker Trilogy.

Since I realized that I'm never going to get another Legacy of Kain game, I started playing them all in order again. So I'm playing Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, then I'll play SR, SR2, and then Defiance (BO2 be damned). This game is just as much fun as I remembered.

Still plodding away at Uncharted. I'm up to the Fortress...which looks like it will involve a lot of climbing (and black & white falling sequences :( ).
So far, I really like the modern-day Indiana Jones feel...but not so much all the shooting. Lots and lots of shooting. I was hoping for more puzzles, but c'est la guerre. Still an exceptional game.
When I'm not tooling around as Nathan Drake, I'll be leading the forces of GDI in the Xbox version of Command & Conquer 3. Plus, I've added Mothership Zeta to my download queue, so I'll be heading back to the wasteland. Or near orbit.

I guess I did remember correctly that was the game that some others were saying was a bit challenging. Challenging as in as hard or similar to Etrian Odyssey hard. EO is basically masochist dungeon crawler.

Spacewalk = THE selling point of that DLC.
Almost on Chapter 9 in The Longest Journey. Considering I started this game last year...the title refers to more than one long journey. I am determined to finish this game today.

I beat Golden Axe: Beast Rider this morning. Was a decent game despite the terrible reviews. Took me about 6+ hours.
Since I don't game during the week save for Friday nights and Mondays, today I'll be playing some Battlefield Bad Company (might bump it down to Normal since Hard hasn't been too fun yet--seems like the bad guys see me before I see them and always kill me quickly. The reloading is almost too forgiving, however, like Bioshock. All the bad guys from my last death are still dead? Ooookay. I guess that's how you balance out the difficulty...
I may also fire up Fallout 3 or install Divine Divinity on my laptop. I've really been in the mood for a great CRPG lately and since the genre is nearly dead besides MMOs or Diablo-style hack n slashers (i.e. NOT RPGs) I have to resort to old games.

'Splosion Man (XBLA) - I'm of a mind to start a thread for people who are having issues with that game. Unless it's just me. I very much want to finish it, but man, that game is hard.
GH: World Tour (360) - So apparently you get the achievement for finishing "most" of the gigs after...33% complete. WTF? I'm not complaining, but that's just weird. I'm also happy to note that the boss battles are 75% less bullshit than they were in GH III.
Red Alert 3 (PC) - I got kicked in the ass a couple of times for relying too much on the same strategy (air superiority) in the final Allied mission. Once I got back to blowing shit up with tanks, everything was hunky dory (except for your character, who has to choose between Eva and Tanya for a date. Yikes.)
So now I'm getting ordered around by Emperor Sulu. Excellent.
Edit: And I hit submit too soon. To finish, I'll be playing either more RA3, Star Wars: Empire at War, or Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War II in my strategy sessions, while the other time will be more 'Splosion Man (if I don't keep being made of fail), more GH, and maybe getting back to Bad Company.
Double Edit: Go three-day weekend. :)

Really looking forward to meeting a new cast of characters in P4 now!

Show off! How do you say that in French?

I say fire up a good PC game. That's only due to myself playing an old PC adventure game. There is a nice charm to them. Besides, if I get frustrated, I can't throw my laptop. I'm stupid, but not that stupid. Well maybe...there was that first marriage thingee...
'Splosion Man (XBLA) - I'm of a mind to start a thread for people who are having issues with that game. Unless it's just me. I very much want to finish it, but man, that game is hard.
I don't think you would get ridden out of town if you think that is what would happen. There is a 'splosion man thread and there have been some who have had some issues. Yeah, the game is challenging. I find the word "hard" for a game that is almost impossible unless you have ninja like game skills or the patience of one...see Ninja Gaiden games...ridiculously hard, made that way on purpose. I think with this game, the trial and error eventually allow you to figure out the levels. Basically, they are doable even if you don't have ninja like skills. I play it in short bursts. I get past a level, congratulate myself on doing that..and leave with my dignity in tact to go back later. Long answer to ...yeah the game is F****** hard :p
GH: World Tour (360) - So apparently you get the achievement for finishing "most" of the gigs after...33% complete. WTF? I'm not complaining, but that's just weird. I'm also happy to note that the boss battles are 75% less bullshit than they were in GH III.
I played around with WT for a bit, but not far enough I believe to do a boss battle. I'm glad they are less BS...the one in GH: Aerosmith, you go against Joe Perry....oh go suck my ball sac on that one. I took the loss and it shows clearly on the playlist that you gave up...bastards. I'm probably get WT when GH 5 comes out so I can get it cheap :D

Interesting. I thought that was what happened at the end of P3. The Answer if you are going to try to play...well I suggest you skip it and just go to P4..it's a grind fest in the dungeon only...and the difficulty was upped quite a bit. I only saw the 50 min opening for P4, but what I seen...it looks promising. I say go play P4 if you need to play more Persona.

Made it to Chapter 11 in The Longest Journey. I will finish this game...even if i'm bleary eyed when I do. Some of the puzzles, well...if you play enough adventure games there are those which make you go..why would I even think of doing that??? And of course when you do...viola...puzzle solved.

It amuses the hell out of me that Quebecois are the backwoods rednecks of the Francophone world. They used to get so high and mighty about their Frenchness a few years back, when my grandparents still lived there, but somewhere along the way, they seem to have (somewhat) smartened up, though the Francophone media are still full of howling jackals, especially the sports section.
Since they turned the Forum into a fucking mall, Montreal has been dead to me. I mean, Old Montreal is nice, but fuck them, they ruined an historical building with a bunch of commercial bullshit.

Pour plaisir. But I've already determined that you are correct about my ability to converse with the locals. On the way here, a woman behind me was returning with an infant (probably around a year old), and she talked to it most of the flight in french. But even though she was clearly talking baby talk I could make out maybe five or six sentences out of everything she said.
Similar situition with the cabbie and the hotel clerk. I start use a French introduction and suddenly I'm overwhelmed with a bombarment of sounds that only sound vaguely familiar. So, seeing that I'm overwhelmed, they apologize and revert to English. I never was very comfortable with conversational French even though I had several years of it in college and the combination of the speed and accents of the natives here makes it impossible for me to follow. If only little word bubbles would pop up above their head so I could read along as they spoke...
Oh well, I guess I'll have to console myself in the fact that I can at least read menus and signs and that's good enough. Should be a fun trip.

I would of probably finished The Longest Journey tonight if not for my incompetence. I wandered around for quite a while trying to figure out how to get past someone in a lobby. Only when I realized there was something in my inventory I was to leave with someone who I had done business with already, that allowed a particular event to happen with a pizza box. One pizza box later...saw some nice dramatic cut scenes with the game obviously coming to a conclusion very soon.

I enjoyed Heavenly Sword up until the SECOND fight with Flying Fox. Most broken boss fight, ever. At least, most broken boss fight that makes you use the deflect move that you've never had to use more than once before in the entire game and then force you to use sixaxis motion controls to get pinpoint accuracy on a moving target ever. I just walked away after that fight. I was kind of annoyed because I was SO close to the ending and quibbles aside, it was a fun game.
I'd buy it if they ever dropped the cost to something remotely reasonable for a 2-3 year old game.
So I figured I'd bring this over from the Weekend thread. Man, that was an easy fight, I think you must have been approaching it all wrong. You can use the deflect move (that's actually really easy, just tough to aim), but I don't think I hit him with that once. All you really need to do is block those throwing attacks based on what color they are and attack him when he jumps down. The toughest part is killing off all the clones he spits out from time to time, but even that isn't too bad if youi just use the ranged attack thing (hold L1) and try not to get surrounded. That really wasn't bad at all, I had a tougher time taking out Roach, which wasn't even that bad to begin with.
So now I think I'm getting towards the end of Heavenly Sword. I shut it off this morning after killing off Flying Fox, so there shouldn't be too much to go. If I don't jump on FFXI tonight I should be able to finish up. After that I'm thinking of either playing Folklore or Tomb Raider Underworld. One of the two.

NG2 isn't as bad. You can pick your difficulty at least and is more forgiving for us apprentice NG players. I go to about the 5th stage before I started having trouble with enemies. There are some cheap areas in the game, like if you have to run across water (you can't stop to attack or you fall in) and enemies faster than you are on your tail. I couldn't get to land in time before getting decimated (I could have gone around the area but kept falling into the water when trying to jump across a chasm). I tried a few times and haven't played since. Too bad because I liked the game quite a bit (because I was progressing whereas in the first game I just died all the time).

Really? REALLY? It's that easy? I tried that fight so many times I wore out a controller (at least, it feels like that) and I don't recall him ever jumping down so I could actually attack him outside of once or twice at the beginning of the fight. He just hung out on the edge of that cage-type thingy and shot stuff at me till I was ready to stab myself in the eye.
I guess I'll have to rent the game again and see if I can get past that part.

His pattern is pretty simple. He'll throw his sword 3 times, jump down, take a certain amount of damage, (or after a set time) jump back up throw his swords, repeat. He has 4 life bars I think, and after you take each one down he spawns some clones of himself, more each time. Kill those off, he goes back to his pattern. Do that 3 times I think then you *spoiler deleted* to finish him off.
The first time I fought him last night I died, but I didn't even realize you could hit Triangle after blocking to control his sword on the way back. Even after realizing it this morning, you really don't have time to aim for him, he moves too quick, it's just good for hitting the red pots up by him to get a health recharge if you need it.

Huh. It never seemed that simple to me. Most of the strategies I found for him involved deflecting his projectiles back at him and aiming with Sixaxis, which did nothing but make me pop the disc out ASAP.
I'll give it a rent again. That said, I just cancelled my online rental stuff with Getgames.ca. I've been with them since day one but I'm utterly sick and tired of their lack of response to any of the e-mails I've sent them about games that I put in the mail but never seemed to make it back to their mailbox. I changed my billing info with them too, so this should be interesting. If they try billing me for the 4-5 games they say I have out but that I know were sent back, I'm going to drop a Better Business Bureau on them.

Tomb Raider....so says the resident TR fanboy :D
Really?
Maybe if you asked real nice...pretty please with sugar on top, come down so I can whack you a few times to kill you :D. Sometimes sugar instead of vinegar and all that cliched stuff ...

Yep it does. The last two chapters are even more chaotic. For some odd reason this makes me want to actually try to finish that game now.
Well, I just finished it. Purps, you need to beat it...although I think the level design takes a hit at the end, the very end of the game is pretty satisfying (with a door left open for a sequel, of course). What took me so long was not shooting anyone for that stupid achievement.

You should play Dreamfall. I actually beat that before I even heard about The Longest Journey, which I have yet to complete. Dreamfall has much saner puzzles, the story is great, and it's a lot shorter. Overall it's one of my favorite games ever.
I just started playing Prince of Persia. I got to the first cleansed ground part and the game was like "Ok, now do all that shit you just did over again" and I decided that I don't like this game for that. Now I need to find something else to play.

If only they would put out some kind of final installment in the Longest Journey/Dreamfall saga to tie up all of the loose ends left dangling at the end of Dreamfall. Zoe's tale is told capably but a lot of the characters they introduce towards the end of Dreamfall feel like they're being set up for a future tale that has yet to be told.
I wonder what I'll end up playing at work tonight. I think I'll be bringing my laptop as well as the portable game systems, so I'll be able to play some Loom or The Dig if the urge strikes me. Anything to keep me awake until 7am tomorrow...

I heard somewhere that they were planning on some episodic content for Dreamfall, but that was supposed to be out early LAST year, so who knows. They would be a day one purchase for me, that's for sure.

I'd be fine with episodes that wrap up the final chapter of the game but the last thing I want is for the story to become diluted by the changes that would have to be wrought to turn it into an MMO.
Same thing with Shenmue. I'm happier not having any more Shenmue than I would be if they tried to tell the final parts of the story via an MMO.

Red Faction: Guerilla came from Gamefly yesterday. It wraps up my open-world roundup starting with Infamous and Prototype. Unfortunately, it seems I saved the worst for last. There are some great ideas at work in this game, but there are two problems that are ruining this game for me.
First, enemies practically sprout out of the ground and burninate me at the slightest provocation. The game does destruction of buildings best, not fighting, and with the fighting heaped on this way it really distracts from the destruction. Second, destroyed structures stay destroyed. This is fantastic for enemy structures, but not so much for things I didn't intend to knock down. The end result is that the world looks like some kind of giant construction site, with half-standing buildings and red clay everywhere. Yuck. Some way to repair buildings/vehicles would have been neat.
As much as I hate to send games back without playing all the way through, I think I'm about to send Guerilla away. I'm just not having as much fun as I thought I would, and there are far too many games to play to waste time on a disappointing one.
Meanwhile, Sid-fest continues wth Civ 4 and Pirates!. I play them in bursts in between others.
Yesterday was my birthday, and my friend bought me Little Big Planet. It's charming, and some of the user levels I fooled around with were very clever. I don't see myself playing it in marathon sessions, but a quick session here and there should be fun.
I bought Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on XBL. I remember being amazed by this game in arcades, so I couldn't stay away. Unfortunately, I doubt I'll spend a lot of time with it. Like most fighters, it's just too technical to be fun for me.
I want to get sucked into Fallout 3 again, but not without purchasing the dlc, and cash is short this month.
I'm in limbo again. Usually, I have one game that I really focus on, but I'm lacking that at the moment. Just playing a few games in bursts in the meantime.

Hey, we all have our vices. I have no idea with the short frustration span I have, I actually enjoyed the last gen Tomb Raiders for it's "unique" controls involving jumping. I even understand why most left the series after TR 2. I kept on buying into the series...I own a pre-order Lara Croft resin statue bobblehead that is a prize treasure of mine. Does it make any sense why I like the series? Pfft...called insanity :D But the last two were really good games. That is no fanboyism. I like the game and want to see the sequel to badly to give up on it. I figure play around with it long enough, some semblance of being able to navigate in the game would come more comfortable. It just makes it less of a "pick up and play" with the controls being so uncomfortable for now. Now when I think about playing, it's about having to deal with the controls etc. Then I drift to thoughts of playing something else.

25-30 hours maybe? I can check my save files when I get home, I have them both archived on the PS3, but I think both KH games were about that. KH2 is much better than KH1.
I played FFXI a bit last night with Cyndair, Goronmon, Silentdeath, Suave Peanut, and Wraith (welcome to Lakshmi!), we had a pretty decent time getting Goron to 20 so he can finally get his Chocobo License. :)

Started the co-op campaign in Dawn of War II with my regular strategy-game buddy, and I've just received my first off-world mission. I'm starting to get the hang of controlling the squads; it's kind of in a weird place, initially. It's not like I can't manage multiple groups of units in an RTS as a general rule, but for whatever reason, the RPG elements threw me off at first just enough to force me to use one or the other. I'm starting to adapt to the DoW II mode of play, and I'm beginning to like it. Not coincidentally, I just unlocked the jetpackers, which we will undoubtedly be fighting like schoolchildren over in the coming days.

I know you like to solve the game yourself which i'm sure made the looking all the more painful. However...that game...you are granted sainthood if you haven't looked earlier. I really did like the game, but not in the frame of mind at the moment for such a eccentric perspective in a game or it's gameplay. But there is always a point in a game for me that i'll come across a puzzle I can't solve, then look at the solution...realizing no way I would of thought of that. Kane & Lynch - new appreciation for this game once I figured out how precise the aiming has to be. Played a lot of online Fragile Alliance on tuesday with 3 other friends. Better to play with friends in a party rather than douchebags who turn on you as soon as the round starts.

Heavenly Sword - Finished. That was one hell of a boss fight/ending sequence. I'm very glad I played the game now, if for nothing other than the story elements. The gameplay was competant enough, but not really as deep as I would have liked.
Now I get to decide what to play next. I really should go back and do the end of Metroid Prime 2 since Trilogy is coming out so soon. I'm in a Nintendo mood, so there's that, Super Paper Mario (which I still really want to play despite the "meh" reaction I've heard about it, I loved 1000 Year Door) or even Zelda. I too enjoyed HS despite its flaws, particularly the ending. I really hope that they get to do a sequel (Has this been confirmed? Can't remember...). So that they can delver a bit deeper into the combat system and flesh out the game's world a bit more.

I had a hard time with the end boss of MP2 for some reason. It just felt... unfair. I didn't feel limited by the game's controls at all until that particular fight. I got past it eventually but I was more annoyed than having fun. (Disclaimer: I'm a huuuuuge Metroid fan and I was still annoyed) Still, it's worth seeing at least, I'd say.
I've played through Super Paper Mario and it's a fun romp but it ran a bit long. The combat wasn't as deep as 1000yr Door (the story was funny and charming though). In the end, I saw it through just to see the dialogue and story but I was totally bored by the end of it.
Zelda, I loved the whole way through. I think I put 50 hours into it in less than 2 weeks when it came out. I'm not sure why you are having so much trouble getting into it. I eat up anything Zelda though and I'm an admitted fanboy.

See, I'm a huge Metroid fan too, I've played and beaten every game in the series aside from Prime 2 (saved right before that annoying last boss), Prime 3 (which will be remedied in a few weeks), and Hunters (which I refuse to aknowledge). That boss just sucked, and at the time I didn't have the patience for it.

About how long is it? The game looks like more of a platformer than the GameCube game was, is that the case or have I just not seen enough of it? I love the style it seems to have.

Haha, glad it wasn't just me then. You will LOVE Prime 3 then. It's my favorite of the Prime series (until Prime 1 comes out with new play control anyway). The controls just make the game that much better.

I believe it took me close to 30 hours to beat it. It is a platformer and a charming one at that. The whole flipping between 2d and 3d mechanic is well implemented and a lot of fun. However, it gets tired and I sort of felt like the level design lost steam toward the end. There is one particular chapter, for example, where you are just running through the same tile set over and over again fighting enemies in a "tournament" type thing. I really felt like it was filler and almost gave up on the game. Overall I still really enjoyed the game but it could have been about 5-10 hours shorter and more focused and I wouldn't have anything bad to say about it. The reason it's compared to 1000yr door is due to the graphical style writing style (which is very similar even if the game play mechanics aren't).
I'm the same way with Zelda as I am with Metroid: I love the series. I just had a bit of a hard time with the Wii controls. I need to go back to it......
You could always track down the Gamecube version if you dislike the Wii controls. You'd loose widescreen but I think I remember you saying that you played Wii on an SDTV anyway. I got used to the waggle sword mechanic after a couple hours and I loved the IR aiming for the bow and other devices.

I loved Mario 1000yr door but Super Paper Mario is terrible. I almost never give up on games but this was not fun for me at all.

Now I almost want to play SPM just because it's quality is being called into question......
And Cyn, I have my Wii hooked up to my LCD with my PS3 and 360, so having the widescreen in the Wii version of Zelda is a nice thing.
Dammit, I have too many choices sitting around.

Or maybe I'll go back to Dead Space..... Or play Folklore..... Decisions decisions. :)
Undecisive here...P4, Kingdom Hearts, Yakuza 2 and 'Splosion Man. I really want to play Kingdom Hearts but I know P4 is the "better" game. The shortness of KH though might be better at the moment. P4 might be better in a month when i'm near my PS3 on a regular basis aka watching tv with ADD. And for some reason...I have a hankering for running around Tokyo..or wherever Yakuza is set in... Finish off Dead Space then move onto Folklore. My 2 cents :D
I too enjoyed HS despite its flaws, particularly the ending. I really hope that they get to do a sequel (Has this been confirmed? Can't remember...). So that they can delver a bit deeper into the combat system and flesh out the game's world a bit more.
I wish ADDGirl would finish playing HS. Although it was so long ago she played...I was into the story and she never finished the game. I won't play it....the sixaxis crap would drive me insane.
You could always track down the Gamecube version if you dislike the Wii controls. You'd loose widescreen but I think I remember you saying that you played Wii on an SDTV anyway. I got used to the waggle sword mechanic after a couple hours and I loved the IR aiming for the bow and other devices.
I really need to do that. I hated the motion controls in TP. The game was typical Zelda, which I was enjoying...but the damn motion control...blah. I tried to play it recently, but I think my disc is borked for some reason. My Wii refuses to read it. And now thinking of Gamecube games, it reminded me I never did play Eternal Darkness that I have sitting around...unplayed...
Today's game agenda: Kingdom Hearts, Yakuza 2 and maybe...XIII...I have hidden my PSP...

You can actually turn that off, they even put it in bold type in the manual. ;)

WHA? You can turn off the sixaxis controls in HS? Sheesh.
Next thing you know, you'll be telling me they added analog stick controls to Lair...
I just woke up about an hour ago from my post-work sleep. Time to dive into Mothership Zeta!

Riviera is a very weird game, but I think I'm finally getting it. I think.

I tried a whole lot of InFamous. Awesome game. Also, tried the Batman demo. TWICE. And some Monkey Island SE.
