Checking twitter for a CoG@PAX specific tag is easier than sending out a bunch of text msgs....right?

I use Twitter, but not on my phone, 'cause it can't. So I probably won't be able to get too many updates at PAX unless one of the people I'm going with gets a smartphone. ;)

My recommendation is stay away....he truly is the one who wins. He won Pax..and he wins Twitter.

The South By Southwest festival took twitter down, but surprisingly the San Diego Comic Con did not. However, last year twitter came pretty close to failing a few times last year. And the wifi at the convention center is likely going to be near useless as it was last year. I won't be posting or checking mine either, much like last year.

I'd say picking a tag beforehand is at least as important. Twitter got me through Defcon even though every network there was saturated.

You don't have a usable phone app but do have SMS you could use, you can configure Twitter to SMS you messages from people of your choice.

I don't think we'll have to worry about PAX taking twitter down. I DO think we'll have issues getting any kind of cell phone connections. Trying to place a call was obscene last year

Cell reception in the convention center was indeed awful. Half the time I couldn't even send text messages, and AT&T's 3G never worked at all. Edge worked sporadically, enough to get emails to and from Bacalou. That aside though, great first day.

It's all the iphones in one place that is screwing with AT&T's network around the convention center.
