So I'm looking at directions to Orlando's House of Blues and something I see on Google Maps puzzles me.

Why do they have you turning right, going down the street and making a u-turn in order to go east when it clearly shows an arrow pointing left indicating that you can make the left hand turn there.

I just don't get it.

I'm guessing the algorithm thinks, whether right or wrong, that you can't turn left at that intersection.

Either that or Google thinks that despite a red light being there turning right and making a u-turn is the quickest way to go.

It's just a bug

With some lights, that could be true. So either the algorithm is incredibly dumb, or surprisingly clever.

Mapquest has you just doing a turn on that light. I'm guessing Google is just wrong in this instance.

you can clearly see the arrow painted on the road if you wanted to go through that intersection and take a left... its a bug
