Yo ladies and gents.
I have one of those home entertainment all-in-one deals; basic 6-speaker with VCR-DVD combo built into the receiver. A Phillps, dunno the model number off the top of my head. Anyway, the other day black lines started coming across the screen, both when I have one of my systems running (basic A/V rig), and when I try playing a tape or DVD. Turning it off and back on helped until yesterday, it'd go away until about 30 minutes or so later.
Now, it's permanent, and the lines are so bad that I can't see what's being played. Given that it's a fairly old setup, I wouldn't be too suicidal if I had to replace it, but I'd rather figure out how to fix it. I do know it's not the TV, my inputs there work fine, everything that's affected is routed through the receiver.
My pops thinks it was RF interference, I tried turning off my laptop and everything else besides what was needed to play, to no avail. The lines aren't straight, in fact it's completely random video static for the most part. I don't understand what it could be, anyone have an idea?
Also, again I won't shed too many tears if I need to get a new one, I wouldn't mind having one with HD inputs anyway, so can someone recommend a reasonably priced rig, that's worth owning?
