Yeah, up in the higher levels, 10 hours is probably going to be a level. The 20% boost will really help knock out 45-50.

Nope. You get five of them. When you use one, it is consumed, and you are left with four, and so on. Once you've used all five, they are all gone :(

Lag spikes were bad last night. Kept happening during the middle of combat for me. Somehow, though, I didn't die at all. Not sure how I got that lucky. Only made it to about level 12, though, because of that. Everyone in my legion was getting kicked at the same time, so it's definitely a server issue.

You start at the Hall of the Artisans in Pandemonium. There are NPCs that teach crafting as well as the crafting stations.

It's pretty awesome that you can see if your items sold on the AH, new mail and nice graphs of your leveling progress.

It's amazing to me how many people are getting worked up over the queues. Queues are a good thing, they mean your server isn't empty and as time goes on, the rush from launch will stabilize and even the most packed servers now will probably be queue-less most times.

That was one of WAR's biggest problems opening up to many shard so the player base got spread to thin just because things were a little busy the first couple of days. The soft cap the began with did not help things either in this regard as it queues start really quickly making people ask for more shards all the quicker.

You guys are definitely making me interested in the game but I think I will have to wait until my free month of CO is done before I try, not going to continue that as I am hardly playing it. It is not bad just not my cup of tea.

I'm tolerating the queues for now. Still, the server I'm playing on with RL friends has about and hour and a half wait any time after 7:00pm EST. It makes it incredibly frustrating if you just want to log on for a few minutes and do some quick crafting or check the broker. By time I get my son to bed and get a chance to log on my computer it's 9:00 most of the time which means I'm not actually getting into the game until 10:30-11. So basically that gives me an hour and a half to play at most. :( I tried queueing up ahead of time and I get in but by it's sporadic how long it takes and by time I get to my computer it's disconnected me due to inactivity.

Hopefully the patch today will do away with all the afk stores and makes things better. Never really had an issue with loggin on ariel other than the first day when caps were a little low.

I think the update solved the queues thing. Private stores timing out after 30 mins seems to be all that was needed.

I am really enjoying the game, so far. The quests are interesting and crafting is fantastic (focusing on armorsmithing and alchemy at the moment). Just a lot of fun.

I'm on Vaizel, personally, and have never been in a server queue either. Although I couldn't make an Asmodian the night I got the game which really pissed me off, but that is a constant problem with all servers, apparently.

I'm not sure they ever intend to be used as a played race. From what I remember reading, the 3rd race is a way to balance the PvP aspect of the game.

My Gf wanted to try it so i bought it for her and messed with it a bit this morning. It still feels like a grinder game, but whatever. Maybe once yer out of noob land a little farther it'll improve.

Yeah this is a total grinder game. The pvp is FUN but holy hell are the quests boring. so boring i actually prefer grinding.

Reminds me a hell of a lot like daoc where grinding groups was the shit. I am loving the stigma system it really changes it up. mY fingers playing my sin so much is killing me >_< carpal tunnel...

Instead of having a talent system to allow players to differentiate themselves you have stigmas. Basically at level 20 you have 2 stigma slots, level 30 opens up more and so on maxing out at 5 or 6(can't remember off hand). The first stigma skill is free. For the assassin it's an additional chain move to the equivalent of a 'up to combo point level 3' version of sinister strike to speak in WoW terms. This allow you to throw up 2 'runes/combo points' on a target and then follow up with fang strike and not to mention if your main dps skill procs rune slash so you can effectively throw out a combination of 6 attacks and put up 4 runes on a target. Additional stigmas like 'resist 2 spells', ambush stigma allowing you to teleport behind the target and 'ambush' + stun, then you can use your regular backstab and proceed towards making their health reach zero.

Their are plenty of other stigmas, for the assassin there's 14 regular ones to choose from for the slots that you get from level 20 and every 10 levels after you unlock another totaling to 5 slots. At level 40 you open up advanced stigma slots. These advanced stigmas have requirements that you have to fulfill such as you have to have a combination of regular stigmas in order to use it, or you have to have another advanced stigma in order to use it. For the rogue there's 5 advanced stigmas so it's not a terrible 'guild wars' thing where you have more than 250+ 'stigmas' to choose from. The advanced stigma slots max out at 3.

Just a note on the stigmas, they are dropped. You have to either pay a hell of a lot or farm them yourself. It reminds me of shadowbane I think and I kinda like it. I hope they plan to release more and allow for really neat combinations that may grow into with expansions a materia-esque system. one can hope. :)

Honestly I really like this system and the animations and combat really make fighting enjoyable. I could really use for some differentiation in game play though because holy fuck i've done my fucking combat routine and committed it to memory, it's a good thing but man...the grind...oh lord the grind. I forgot what old school mmos are like and what it was like when being level capped was something that you could truly appreciate.

p.s. deaths REALLY suck and cost large amounts of money >_< pvp deaths obviously have no penalty though

Hmm well if i was going to start fresh, don't get me wrong i've had a lot of fun and see myself having a hell of a lot more fun with my sin I suggest spiritmaster(only need one person to summon people, and they have interrupts and when the new patch that allows pets to fly will DOMINATE and have pvp skills that other classes just do not have as well as a pretty complex game mechanics(big skill set)) or..for just all out fun gladiator. Their attacks/skills are really fun to watch and I mean impaling your enemy and smashing him left and right like the incredible hulk really makes you feel like a juggernaut.

Those are the two alts I'm going to roll and I absolutely can't wait.

Go chanter if you never want to be the person who has the fun in the spotlight. You make everyone else cool but you never will be. It's like the retribution paladin for the longest time until they got buffed. I did that already and I will never do that again for 4yrs. Never again. And at least in WoW they had the option of being able to heal better than anyone. Here they don't even have that.

The only thing I've found myself saying I wish I had a chanter for was the extra +10 to movement speed but that's for chasing down people who knew they were fucked.

i dont mind playing a supporting role character, espcially in pvp. i always find its more fun to go with the group and partner up, and if you can keep someone else alive and get 2 kills, rather than get 1 kill and then die cuz a second person came at you while you were hurt, thats better - even if someone else got the kill shot.

I have yet to PVP in Aion - is there rewards based on contribution like in WoW? Healing, damage, kills and so on?

Well the chanter has the best buffs in the game but their heals are like a druid with their really small lesser heal and okay hots. The buffs you provide do benefit over all the entire group in a way that outdps's a regular dpser but the clincher is this, the 'buffs' are aura based and when in flight, unless everyone is in the exact same altitude as you, they will not receive the buff. That's what killed it for me since flight is a big thing I think in the abyss. Unless you stay on the ground where you're easy prey..you pretty much are I mean if a paladin didn't have his or her bubble she'd just be easy mode without their stun included. They have a stigma that is like laying of hands but 50% i think. I know where you're coming from though because I am a BIG time Friar player from daoc and any class that uses a stave as their main dps weapon is the cats tits.

I'm basically waiting for the patch that makes them awesome. ;)

Well Ive been playing a lot of alt lately but mostly on my chanter Kalergen. I have a bunch of bc quests left to do but it's a pain finding groups lately. Today I joined a pu grinding group and we ended up taking down the chief. I even got lucky and won his mask. I have to catch up with you guys and join the guild I guess. At least it will do away with the random guild invite spam. I don't know how many times I wanted to scream at people " No I don't want to join your guild Assmasters!"

I downloaded through steam super fast (3-5mbps) get to the NCsoft launcher.. the bitch won't go faster than 140kb/s That's fucking ridiculous how slow this PoS is. I opened some ports like I read on the net. Nope, still going so fucking slow. 50 minutes to download 490mb is absolutely ridiculous.

Mrs Jonno has been wanting to give it a go for ages, because a lot of her friends from WoW have switched to it over the past few months and actually stayed. The buddy key thing lis a bit crap, they're limited to three days, five hours or level seven, whichever you hit first. It hardly seems worth the download.

That's the thing, fort raiding and pvp raiding is great but if that's all it is that's not very much content in the high end. Even when the patch comes out FFXIV will be well under way and then there's old republic coming next year?

After diablo 3 hits all bets are off.
