Xbox 360 World at War Beta Officially Up and Running

Activision sends word that the beta for Call of Duty: World at War is now officially up and running (some of you already know this, though) for the Xbox 360.

The Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer betas will provide players with an opportunity to play as U.S. Marines, German Wehrmacht, Japanese Imperial Army and Russian Red Army factions in a variety of game types (Team Death Match, Free-For-All, Capture the Flag and War), across three different maps:


Castle: The Imperial Japanese Army faces off against the Marine Raiders in a daytime battle, located on the grounds of an ancient, Japanese castle.
Makin: The U.S. Marine Raiders square off against the Imperial Japanese Army in a nighttime fight, set in an outpost on the Makin Atoll in the Pacific.
Roundhouse: The Wehrmact will fight the Red Army to the bitter end in a daytime struggle that features tank and infantry combat, set in a desolate, war-torn European train depot.

Call of Duty: World at War will be released on November 11th on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii (Rated M for Mature), and Nintendo DS (Rated T for Teen).

NOTE - the PC multiplayer beta will be released very soon!

I'll check out the PC beta but looking at the game's release date, there's no way I'll be playing this game at launch. It's too soon after CoD4 when combined with the the other types of great games (with different gameplay) that are coming out around then.

I played it Friday to the lvl cap, it's CoD4 with WW2 weapons. I found hit detection to be spotty with certain weapons, lot of fun though. Definitely looking forward to the release but mainly for the co-op campaign, which will kick all kinds of ass.

People just love to eat up those beta keys and never let the people with lives get a chance.

Impressions seem pretty good all around for the game. At least in the sense that its just CoD 4 in the World War II era.

No PC beta for us yet, no win then.

It's a big COD4 WWII mod, the campaign looks good, the mp is the same that we love. The addition of vehicles is nice, let's see how it works.
