A couple months back I posted how I never had gotten around to watching Spaced, and when I did I just about kicked myself with regret for not watching it earlier.
Well, it's now on Hulu, so if you haven't seen it I am begging you from the bottom of my fat little heart to get over there and watch it (http://www.hulu.com/spaced).

This man speaks the truth. Do it! All of you! All told it's less than six hours of your life for one of the best shows ever.

This show is #2 in my list of 'Shows that ended way too fucking soon'.
Behind Firefly, of course. ;)
If you liked Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz and haven't seen this show, you are officially a shell of a human being. Watch it and become whole again. You won't be disappointed.

I'll have to check that out.

Being a british show, it ended when they wanted it to end. And Hulu is another way for ignorantly smug Americans to act more smug. BASTARDS!

Not only is it on Hulu, but it's been on Youtube for a while.
No lie, I was pimping this in #cog two nights ago.
Club scene from season one is probably my favorite.

My favorite is the "shootout," both of them.

The slow-motion finger gun fights are still my favorite.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to, too. Especially the grenades, knives, and blood spurts.

Spaced is awesome.

Maybe I should watch this again. I loved SotD & Hot Fuzz, and I love most (good) British comedies. But when I watched this show, I just was not engaged in any way, and rarely even cracked a smile. Maybe I was just not in the mood to watch it. A second chance makes sense given the praise lauded on this.

Spaced is like the first third of SotD. I don't see how you could love that and not get into Spaced. I hope a second watch clicks for you.

A second chance makes sense given the praise lauded on this.
When it was originally aired in the UK I watched one or two bits and just wasn't taken by it, and then a few years later saw Pegg on Jonafan Woss's show I think, and they played a clip of I think the slow-mo gun fight, and I though I'd have to give it a second chance. And was immediately shocked at the fact that I hadn't liked it, as it became one ofmy favourite things ever.
Same thing happened with Peep Show - hated that to begin with, then went back and tried it again (discovering I'd seen half of the first season) and really liked it.

Makes a second viewing even more promising. I will add it to my queue (apropos for a British show :) )

My daughter loves Simon Pegg and I was hoping to surprise her and get the DVD set of Spaced for her birthday. My wife saw that it was on Hulu last night and my daughter was "meh...".
This birthday concept may need more work!

Meh before watching it or after watching it?
I've watched the series twice and I'll be doing it a third time eventually, this time with the DVD set's homage identifying subtitles.

My favorite part is the very end of series 2. "All right?" "All right." That's a good way to end a series, not ride the train until it slides all the way to Overdone Junction's Suckery Central Station.

Has no close caption or subtitles. :(
And I liked both movies! Bah, humbug.

True. As much as I want to see a third season where Tim and Daisy hook up, I know it's better this way.

Yep, this show was amazing. I do suggest picking up the DVDs though, as the commentary is pretty fantastic (Kevin Smith, Quentin Tarantino, Diablo Cody) and this is one of the few shows that I watched with the commentary ON.

Spaced is awesome.
I liked seeing an interview with Simon Pegg years back when Shaun of the Dead was coming out. He was talking about how sick and tired he was of fans coming up asking when they were going to film a new season of Spaced and ranted on the subject for a bit.

Heh. I actually have a cousin with that exact same speech impediment. I didn't even know it was a condition until I saw Jonathan Ross's Japanorama and googled around about it.

I think I was on a train with Jonathan Ross at one point, in the first-class carriage from Paris to London. Or it might not have been him, this was before I knew who he was specifically, being an uncultured American. He got on the train and the people sitting across the aisle from my friend and I said something like "Whoa, it's Ross!" Whoever it was had his particular speech impediment, anyway.
He was really annoying and talked on his cellphone the entire fucking time. I was trying to sleep because we had been trekking around the city all day. His phone rang yet again and I gave him a dirty look and he apologized. That's right, sir, I have no idea who you are, so harass your assistant about your stupid expired passport *quietly*.

Awesome, I started to watch all the episodes on youtube a year or two ago, I can't remember why I didn't finish. At least now I can resume doing so with better quality.

"Meh..." after being told that it existed. She's heard of it but didn't sound interested.
Maybe she was tired and trying to not sound excited about something that her mother told her about. Kids are like that. It's cool until your parents show interest; then it loses all attraction.

It's your duty as a parent to make sure she watches it. She can't call herself a fan of Simon Pegg without doing so.

Hey! She's got Strontium Dog: Down To Earth (http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/comics/audio/index.shtml) on her iPod. I must be doing something right!
I'll probably still get the DVD set for her.

To this day, everytime I hear some random, repeating noise, like water dripping on the concrete or someone's cell going off in the distance, I think of Tyres. Then I dance.

Like so much British comedy the people involved form clusters that bleed into other stuff like Hippies, Black Books, Green Wing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAd9zZhGqkc) (that's Brian) for those looking for more.

Tch, people if you haven't watched Spaced you should go flagellate yourselves most thoroughly right now. Go on.
Are you finished? Yes? Good. Now watch Spaced, and then watch Black Books and Green Wing.

I picked up Season 1 disc 1, and the first show didn't click for me so I sent the rest back. And I am a Simon Pegg fan. I may have to try it again.

Fortunately, I was busy doing something when I watched the first episode (I think I was painting Warhammer figures). It is a little slow. By the 3rd episode, every show has something that makes me laugh out loud, which is very rare in modern comedy for me.

"Battles" is still my favourite. Paintball and a fear of bamboo :)
But yea, Black Books also gets my vote. It isn't laugh out loud comedy in my opinion, but it doesn't need to be, it is just a different kind of funny :P

Spaced is my favorite Stoner comedy. Also best usage of games in TV.
