I don't think this has been posted, but I stumbled upon this just now.

It doesn't look as bad as I expected, but I still need to see more.

Regardless, I'm one of those people who'll go see childhood favorites raped just in hopes if it being good.

Hmmm, I might rent it. At the very least I'll wait for reviews, but I'm not expecting much.

Who knows, it might actually be a decent western reinvention of the franchise.

I just hope that with antennae and a turban Piccolo doesn't look like such a douche. He's probably one of my favorite characters in the whole franchise.

I know absolutely nothing about Dragon Ball so I may end up getting more enjoyment out of the flick than fans. Doesn't look great, but it looks like something I could rent and have fun with on weekday night.

Did I miss something? Granted I haven't kept an eye on anything DB in years, but last time I checked it wasn't about a bunch of weak-looking white kids.

The guy playing Goku looks like he'd be more at home shopping at Old Navy. ;)
Even Piccolo, who my friends and I decided was the Ving Rhames-ish black guy (if he wasn't green) of the DBZ crew, is white.
I guess they want this movie to fail. The people who are actually still into DB are probably having a shit fit right now.

I...don't know what to think. I guess I was expecting something closer to the anime or manga - I have no idea why. I think I was actually a little disappointed not to see a tail, bright green skin, etc.

Still, I'll probably see it at some point.

I wanted this to be good. I really did. I loved Dragonball. But after seeing some production photos and that monstrosity, I hope it does terribly. The casting was all wrong outside of like, two people. And making half of the cast Asian and the other half Caucasian is kind of baffling to me. Also, I could've done without Samurai Girl being Chi-chi. Piccolo looks terrible. So does Goku.

I have this feeling that it's going to get a 7% on Rotten Tomatoes. Any other predictions?

It will get a South Park cartoon made about it, depicting the violent rape of yet another franchise by Hollywood.

In truth, although I never read the manga, I watched a bit of the Dragon Ball Z anime series, and to be honest as bad as this looks it cant possibly be any worse than that.

That's so atrocious I laughed out loud. There is nothing else I could do, I spent years eating breakfast in front of the heater watching DB and DBZ (I didn't always enjoy it, episodes that dragged way beyond the norm.) but I still couldn't handle watching such a mutilated version on the big screen.

I'm a pretty long-time fan of DB/Z, and I'll watch this when it comes out. Why not? The clips I've seen so far looks visually interesting, and it couldn't possibly ruin my fond memories of the anime. I have low expectations and very little self-respect, so there's really nothing to lose. :D

Besides, it's not like it could possibly be any worse than the Fist of the North Star, Street Fighter or Casshern movies. *shudder*

I admit I used to watch DB and DBZ, but FotNS is the movie that got me into anime to begin with. It has major flaws, but how many other old-school anime feature exploding heads as the hero's primary attack? ;)
