Do you not have any friends who like to play card games? Or do they not live anywhere near you? Well, here's a solution:
Magic Workstation (http://www.magicworkstation.com)
What it is:
A client that allows you to connect to a server and play with other clients using a persistent virtual table.
What you can do with it:
There's downloadable card sets and themes for just about every big TCG out there. The one I use it for the most is WoW TCG.
What it's useful for:
Testing decks and keeping track of your physical collection. Playing with people across the world.
What it's not for:
Learning how to play. You have to know the rules of the game because the players are in complete control of the table. You have to do all of the card manipulation yourself and without any sort of prompts or help from the program.
Isn't this illegal/immoral?
It's not illegal because MWS does not package the content files with the client. They're all user support and in most cases unoffically given the go-ahead by the companies who make the cards. This isn't a replacement for physical cards, it's simply a tool to play the games we love when we can't get together. In my experience, I end up buying more cards and playing the game more when I'm able to experiment with crazy ideas via MWS.
If you're interested in playing a specific game with MWS, simply google MWS and the game name and you'll probably turn up a good source for the files you need and instructions on how to use them. If you can't find the game you want, post below and I'll see if I can dig it up for you.
