I saw this on Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875998339) and couldn't resist. I figured I should share it. It's an UNLOCKED wireless card for internet over GSM cell networks. This will work with AT&T (obviously) and should also work with T-Mobile and any other GSM carrier since it's unlocked. Even Japanese (2100mhz) ones, I believe. All you need to do is provide a SIM with a data plan on it and you should be able to get internet where ever there is cell coverage from your carrier.

Technical Specifications:

GSM/GPRS: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
3G: 850/1900/2100 MHz

PC ExpressCard

Max transfer rate: 1.4 Mbps download, 800 Kbps upload
Cellular Enhancement Protocol: EDGE/GPRS, UMTS/HSDPA
Flip Up Antenna
Supported OS: Microsoft Windows Vista, XP, and 2000, Mac OS 10.4 or later

Just so you know, latency over that sucker is going to be horrible (600ms ping on a good signal). You'll want to go EVDO RevA if you're thinking of doing anything time sensitive with it.

I know, mostly just for internet browsing. I don't know nearly enough about CDMA networks. What's the latency on EVDO RevA?

I'm pinging to CoG @ 120ms on my Sprint (Novatel) U720 in a -90db RevA coverage area.

I game on it regularly without too much problem. 130ish to TF2, 180ish to L4D, 220ish to WoW.

Damn, that's pretty impressive. I was unaware of EVDO having such low latency. I would probably consider going with them but because I'm only doing web browsing and the deal I get on the service is so good I will go with GSM.
