I get to play music with my dad for old people, who will complain that we're too loud and that music written in the 50s-70s is obnoxious and for all the young kids out there.
On the other hand, my drinks are free and I'll walk away with $800 for four hours of work.

One of the best fucking live bands in the world who have been playing some reunion shows this year.
I had forgotten, these mother fuckers have a god damned New Year's song.

Seriously, I feel like I'm fucking 17 again. I'm so pumped for this show.

Hmm, it's after New Year's Eve, but on the 3rd I'm checking out Cirque du Soleil in Atlanta.

Hot Water Music = freakin' excellent. Never seen them live, but their music is awesome.
Myself - if I'm not stuck at the station, I'll be watching the Strip fireworks from the balcony of my apartment. Our view is really freakin' good.

I had a rather rediculous trist last New Years, but I have a feeling this one will be much more tame. And lonely. And uneventful. Oh Casey Kasem, your my only friend.

This made me laugh just now. I just remembered the time he was on an episode of Saved by the Bell.

He's on the radio in Ghostbusters...always cracks me up.
Anyway, I don't know what I'm doing this New Year's Eve. Last year was fucking epic, but I sort of doubt I'll have as good of a night this year (ridiculous levels of drunkenness and no-consequence sex with one of my friends made last year wonderful). Probably dress up in my suit (again), wear tennis shoes with said suit (again), get sloppy drunk (again), and not make a resolution (again).

My plan? Try and find something to do in small town America where the parties are lame and the women ugly (aside from my wife of course).

I'll be with the in-laws, so chances are I will be drinking champagne at 8:30, wishing them goodnight at 10:30 then heading out with the GF at 10:31.
Does anyone else hate NYE? Personally, it is the least of holidays for me, ranking just above getting kicked in the shins. I find it overhyped and underwhelming. I've had one good NYE, and the rest have been meh.

I'll probably end up at a friend's house drunk and doing something stupid.
Jackel do you live in Fairbanks? If so I pity you.

I don't know what I'm doing this weekend, let alone NYE.
Chance are it'll involve drinking.

Hey, Slack3r78, I shot the music video for 'Paper Thin' for HWM! It had a brief stint on MTV2, but that's about it. It was a blast going on tour with the guys for four dates. Really nice guys and a great 'working man's' band. Good memories!
Probably getting hammered at home with PlusOne and watching TV til we pass out on the couch.

My jealousy is palpable. Seriously, get within a few hundred miles of me and the atmosphere changes, that is my jealousy.

Really? That makes me very happy. I was never fully satisfied with the non-concert footage (all that hospital, 1st-person-viewpoint stuff). But at one point I was hanging from the rafters shooting their Gainesville show (their hometown, 'natch) half afraid of falling to my death and half completely energized by the crowd (HWM have Fugazi-like devoted fans)...it was a fun experience.

Heh, this is going to be like the 4th or 5th time I've seen them live (the most memorable was probably when I saw them election night '04. I have a feeling this New Year's show is going to top that) and the HWM logo :

is one of the few things I've ever seriously considered getting tattooed.
So I have no idea what you're talking about with this talk of devoted fans. ;)

I have seen them 5 times, including once this year for thier reunion show in Chicago.
Plus, 3 of my friends have HWM tattoos.
It is the only reason I do not have one, I gotta be indy with this one and not do something because everyone else is.
No plans...now that I'm single again I have no idea what my holiday plans are going to be for a while. :(
That sucks, man. Well there's still two and half months left, you never know what'll happen, right?
