View Full Version : And for the FINAL time...

Johan

I'm a daddy. As of this evening, I am the proud father of a ten-pound baby boy!!

And baby makes a family of eight. And no more. My quiver is complete and my heart is full. He's a cute little bugger, but man...seventeen HOURS of labor for my wife before he decided to take a peek out into the world. We were beginning to think he was reevaluating this whole process and reneging on his part of the deal! Like a squatter, he wasn't moving out...

Born in my home, too. Fourth one like that. I highly recommend it to you! (born in your home...not born in mine!) ;)

:happiness and joy: :)

Edit: How I forgot to mention his name, I have no idea. Josiah. :)

Congrats man.
I'm glad there are some people out there who enjoy babies enough to bring them into the world.

Thank you! It's not for everyone; I totally understand why some people wouldn't want children, but it's been in the cards for me for a while.

I ought to move to Italy. Their birth rate is below replacement levels; I would help with that statistically.

Congratulations, Johan!

Thank you! :o

Good luck, old guy!

I'll be shooting blanks very soon! :)

Thank you, all. I'll see if I can get a photo up in a day or so, when I've the strength. I'm freaking exhausted, and all I did was the easy part.

That's awesome! Congrats, Daddy! Even though I only get to see my son on weekends (for the most part) these days, the day of his birth is like yesterday for me.

So is this the Johan home yet? :) I'm sure Mrs. Johan is hotter than Terry Jones, though.

Congrat, Johan.

And the upside to your family is free daycare. Just have your older kids take care of them now. ;)

And when you said this, "...seventeen HOURS of labor for my wife before he decided to take a peek out into the world", my mind started to read "...before he decided to take a peek out of the vag...no wait, he didn't say that *edits thought*...into the world..." :o

I agree with your sentiment.

Also, ironic...No one under 17 admitted! That was our policy with this little one, apparently! ;) 17 hours, that is...

Awesome! Congratulations, Johan! We're at two boys at the moment, and we're thinking about three. And that sounds like a full house to us! I can't even imagine six kids. In fact, it makes me hurt deep inside to imagine it. I think you just gave me an ulcer.

I ought to move to Italy. Their birth rate is below replacement levels; I would help with that statistically.

Actually the birth rate was so low in some cities, they were offering cash and other incentives to increase the birthrate. To bad you can't take advantage of that program, you would be a millionaire there ;)

I'll be shooting blanks very soon! :)

The *snip* procedure? Ouch...

Solution in the works...snip snip snip.

Congrats to your family, hope the little guy has a great life ahead and every blessing conceivable!

Johan's situation reminded me of a cleaner who worked for my family once. He also had 6 children and after the 6th he decided to go in for the snip snip surgery. A year later, his wife was expecting again - as it turned out, they botched his procedure. He ended up having yet another baby later on, making it a family with 8 children. So erm... just make sure they get it right!

Sorry I'm late to the party on this. Congrats! Josiah is a great name. I won't mention the quiver stuff to my wife. It makes her want to gag. ;) People used to joke with her siblings (there are 10 of them) about that verse. They hated it.

We're pregnant with our first though. :D We're doing the midwife/birth center thing. We don't want to have the baby in an apartment. :)

Heh. I had both of my kids in a hospital...

BUT!

It was the hospital that was built in the exact same location as the farm was that I spent my first 5 years on this earth. We got kicked off the farm when the hospital bought the land from the owners, but I always had a good story to tell the nurses when we were in there popping out the kids.
